How Will The Packers Do In The Postseason?

I'm not the one calling out MM's playcalling in general... don't have a beef with that. Don't like our approach to running the football or the philosophy wrt the OL, but in general I like McCarthy. Hate that FB dive play - who the fuck is that fooling??Originally posted by Fritz View PostWist, which scenario makes you happier: The Packers win against the Cardinals Saturday night, or they lose and you get to post for months and months about how right you were about Capers' futility, MM's play calling, and TT's lack of manliness when drafting players?
Seriously. Which one?
TT drafting good players on defense that really don't fit - and the Packers penchant for drafting ballerina DB's?? Do I really even need to make that argument?? Isn't it obvious. Although, as I said, they've been better this year.
As for dunderdummy... when have I ever uttered a disparaging word?? HUH??!! When!!
So to answer your question?? The answer is yes.wist

Well, the "winners" are:
Carolina_Packer, Fritz, gbgary, jklowan, Joemailman, K-town, King Friday, Pugger, Smidgeon, smuggler, woodbuck27, and wponyI can't run no more
With that lawless crowd
While the killers in high places
Say their prayers out loud
But they've summoned, they've summoned up
A thundercloud
They're going to hear from me - Leonard Cohen

We were robbed by the refs. Fitz's non catch, the offensive PI (familiar theme in Arizona in the playoffs), Arizona's hands to the face that wasn't called on their first TD drive, etc (there were a couple others that ended up not affecting the game due to INTs).Originally posted by mraynrand View PostWe wuz robbed. I'd like to see the refs not affect a playoff game at some point.
(Yes, I just got to watch the game just now. My girlfriend's mother's 70th party was yesterday, and my girlfriend's nephew spoiled the game for me. Insufferable kid who loves to spoil things. Was too upset to watch the game yesterday.)No longer the member of any fan clubs. I'm tired of jinxing players out of the league and into obscurity.

This has to be straightened out by the NFL during the off-season. The exact same play happened in the Packers/Eagles preseason game that we were at and it was called incomplete (except it was the Packers on O). MM challenged the ruling on the field and the ref said it was still incomplete.Originally posted by Smidgeon View PostFitz's non catch.
How is the play in one game a catch and in another an incompletion? Both were challenged by MM on opposite sides of the outcome and he lost both challenges. But Rodgers leads the league in frumpy expressions and negative body language on the sideline, which makes him, like Josh Allen, a unique double threat.

I know they have a lot to cover but how can you miss some of the stuff they do? I remember a scoring play where there the AZ WR just grabbed his guy and pushed him back 15 yards into the Endzone! How the fuck do you not call that? Even the announcers were blown away by the ineptitude of the crew.Originally posted by Smidgeon View PostWe were robbed by the refs. I firmly believe that the league sends a directive out to the refs regarding what to watch for and call and what to not. Having watched every playoff game so far, it's pretty clear to me that the refs weren't calling DPI or OPI like they were in the regular season. Same goes for offensive holding.Originally posted by Freak Out View PostI know they have a lot to cover but how can you miss some of the stuff they do? I think they the league doesn't want a playoff game decided by a ticky-tack PI or holding call. One time Lombardi was disgusted with the team in practice and told them they were going to have to start with the basics. He held up a ball and said: "This is a football." McGee immediately called out, "Stop, coach, you're going too fast," and that gave everyone a laugh.

This was on the Arizona go-ahead touchdown. The guy who got held/pushed was, I think, Casey Hayward, and directly as a result he was unable to catch the ball that Randall had tipped."The Devine era is actually worse than you remember if you go back and look at it."
