  • Wisconsin Badgers In The NFL Draft??

Living where I do, the Badgers aren't on TV too often. So, you Badger fans that watch them regularly, are any of these guys NFL worthy? Could any of them help the Packers next year or beyond?

    Seniors
    143 Joe Schobert OLB 14 Wisconsin Sr 6-1 236 4-5
    231 Derek Watt FB 3 Wisconsin rSr 6-1 236 6-7
    262 Tanner McEvoy FS 10 Wisconsin rSr 6-6 231 7-FA
    273 Michael Caputo SS 12 Wisconsin rSr 6-0 206 7-FA
    277 Tyler Marz OT 22 Wisconsin rSr 6-7 318 7-FA
    397 Joel Stave QB 24 Wisconsin rSr 6-4 219 ––
    492 Austin Traylor TE 26 Wisconsin rSr 6-3 245 ––
    502 Ray Ball OG 28 Wisconsin rSr 6-6 321 ––
    520 Darius Hillary CB 51 Wisconsin rSr 5-11 187 ––
    637 Alex Erickson WR 82 Wisconsin rSr 6-0 197 ––
    874 Jordan Fredrick WR 123 Wisconsin rSr 6-3 208 ––
    958 Drew Meyer P 16 Wisconsin rSr 6-2 190 ––

    Others
    Corey Clement RB ?
One time Lombardi was disgusted with the team in practice and told them they were going to have to start with the basics. He held up a ball and said: "This is a football." McGee immediately called out, "Stop, coach, you're going too fast," and that gave everyone a laugh.

I thought I heard Corey Clement is coming back in 2016?

Tanner McEvoy is an interesting prospect. He played both FS and WR last year. If he plays safety in the NFL he'd be one of the tallest DBs in league history. He is 6'6" and 223 lbs.

Those seem like some pretty low estimates. Schobert 4th or 5th round? That would be an extreme bargain for somebody. As far as the Packers are concerned, he and Watt would be of the most interest, IMO. Marz maybe also, but he didn't impress me much in college. I think still he goes way before the 7th round, though. McEvoy I bet goes late 3rd or 4th. Stave if he does well in the East West Shrine game maybe 5-6; Erickson will help some NFL team - I bet he goes 5-6 also.
What could be more GOOD and NORMAL and AMERICAN than Packer Football?

^Watt? Isn't he a FB? Just what the Packers need in case Kuhn retires. MM must carry two, you know.

I heard Erickson is trying to get a medical red shirt for a previous year so he might be playing for Bucky in 2016 and not the NFL.
But Rodgers leads the league in frumpy expressions and negative body language on the sideline, which makes him, like Josh Allen, a unique double threat.

LOL. He'd be lucky to be a camp arm.

In this last bowl game, the announcers kept saying Stave had set all kinds of records at QB for UW. I was amazed. He's always looked like crap the few times I've seen him. Plus, wasn't McEvoy QBing part of one year?

I like Austin Traylor at TE. He was injuried for a chunk of the season but he is a good blocker who can catch. He will probably be picked up in the late rounds.

I hear ya. And it's always a big argument to change the channel.

Of that list, I'd say Traylor is a maybe. Schobert could put on a little weight and play somewhere. McEvoy is gonna be a pro because I say so.

I swear Watt has another year of eligibility. Guess not. His best asset is his name.

Erickson might make a team. I don't see any Badger taken before 4th round.

I actually envy those guys. They got color TV! And probably a remote too.

Those colored pool balls jump right off the screen. Exciting, yes.

Disagree. The Stave family expects Joel to be drafted because NFL people have told them they expect him to be drafted.

OK. I wasn't much impressed with him, but I only saw a few games. He seems to have a big enough arm, but is wildly inaccurate. My daughter really, really hates him But she's not an NFL scout, just an angry sophomore.
