  • Datone Jones - done for the year?

Sounds like Jones might be done for the rest of this NFL season, but will be back next year. From JSO:

Defensive end Datone Jones said he has been diagnosed with an injury to his trapezius muscle on the left side of his neck and shoulder area. He received a second medical opinion earlier in the week and will travel with the team but won't play Sunday.

"I got checked out and I'm good to go," said Jones. "I'm playing next year. I'm waiting to see what the team doctor (Patrick McKenzie) says."

Jones said he "probably" wouldn't be able to play if the Packers advance in the playoffs.

This might have a bigger impact on the game than most people seem to be acknowledging now. While he hasn't become the next Cullen Jenkins, he did seem to come up with at least two very good plays per game - a sack, or a tackle for loss on a third-and-short. One less playmaker, more snaps and less rest for people like Peppers or Daniels or Guion or whomever.

This also will impact his career. Isn't he coming into the option year of his contract? If it's like the ones negotiated previously, his cap number would be pretty high, and I doubt if that's so that the Packers will take it up. I'm curious as to how much the Packers like the guy. He doesn't seem destined for pro-bowler status, but he seems as if he could be a good cog in the machine of the defense, especially if he really can play OLB.

      A Fuckdoggle opportunity for #97.
One time Lombardi was disgusted with the team in practice and told them they were going to have to start with the basics. He held up a ball and said: "This is a football." McGee immediately called out, "Stop, coach, you're going too fast," and that gave everyone a laugh.

Linebacker Jayrone Elliott (thigh) and Jones won't play but were listed as questionable. It will be the second missed game for Elliott, who doubted he would require surgery.
Unless this is a copy editor's error, Elliot is out too.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Boyd off the practice squad to take Datones spot and fuckdoggle!
But Rodgers leads the league in frumpy expressions and negative body language on the sideline, which makes him, like Josh Allen, a unique double threat.

            Thought Boyd was on IR.
No longer the member of any fan clubs. I'm tired of jinxing players out of the league and into obscurity.

I guess Nick Perry was part of that as well.

Dr. McKenzie apparently told him it was a miracle ala Reggie.
