To be fair we lost some quality players to free agency and used our top draft picks to try to replace some high quality free agents that we lost

I also think most would agree we had some weaknesses last year at TE and ILB and how well we were unable to address them because we had to use our high draft picks to replace our free agency losses.

Yeah, and those high draft picks we took are going to pay off considerably long term. It is tough to get what you need when you pick 28th or so every year.

That is why Thompson MUST do a better job finding more pickups like Woodson and Peppers on an annual basis. He has proven he CAN do it...so why doesn't he do it more often?
