  • DL is not the only position group to stop the run. LBs must do their part. Neal and the non-Matthews linebacker could both be upgraded easily and that would help the run D.

Teams ran against the Packers because they had leads since the offense struggled. If the offense returns to form, less pressure on the Run D.

Boyd comes back. They like Ringo and Pennell. Reinforcements are already on their way. They need one but its not my choice for top need on team, nor on D. LB first.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

    • Packers won't be a great run stuffing defense as long as the play nickel and dime as much as they do. It's just not as big a priority to Dom as preventing big passing plays. Even with the outstanding 2010 defense, they were only 18th in rushing yards allowed per game. If Raji is signed, the DL is pretty good. I agree with PB. The key to an improved run defense is better linebacker play.

Ok so looking at the Draft as we see it now. Who is well positioned and plays LBer that TT might feel is a value pick at NO. 27?

The following look like likely candidates for the NO. 27 pick today:

Hunter Henry TE, Arkansas or Cody Whitehair OG , Kansas St. or William Jackson III CB, Houston or Josh Doctson WR, TCU or maybe select on the OL and pick Le'Raven Clark OT, TEXAS TECH

Who do you like amongst these or is there another prospect positioned for a likely TT pick? ie OT Taylor Decker or OLB Darron Lee , Ohio State (he didn't have the Combine performance he might have liked) might still be on the board.

          • The most discussed quarterback across the NFL right now isn't one of the players entering the draft or Colin Kaepernick or even Peyton Manning. The most discussed quarterback is a former star who shredded his knee and his relationship with two different coaching staffs.

            • If RG III is coveted, does that mean Johnny Manziel will be a hot property, too?

              • No. You can't trust Manziel to show up to practices or meetings. You can't trust him not to piss hot for blow. He's not a leader and seemingly not even a good teammate. Not employable. RG3 at least could be a backup.

RG III will be a starter next year with some team. The contract will be closer to starter money than backup money. Maybe $15M per year for 3 years.
But Rodgers leads the league in frumpy expressions and negative body language on the sideline, which makes him, like Josh Allen, a unique double threat.

It's actually $16M over 4 years for #Vikings & S Andrew Sendejo. They were in safety market, linked to Iloka, others. Does this change that?

Wow...based on what? 7 starts, less than half a season, at the end of which he got lifted for a taped-together Manning. I have to think the Broncos know something from camp performances, etc. It kind of reminds me of the extension Rodgers signed during his first year starting for the Pack.

                              • Jennings out in Miami
The Miami Dolphins will have more room under salary cap when free agency opens on Wednesday. The team cut Greg Jennings and restructured the deals of Ndamukong Suh and Koa Misi.

Have to figure he's done. Might get a vet minimum somewhere, but I doubt it.
