  • Coach Woodson - Special Teams

Mason Crosby credits Charles Woodson for his turn around in 2012. Recall that as bad as that season was, it was even worse until the last few games when Crosby went 6 for 6. What changed? Woodson told him to quite going out there trying to kick a FG, and instead just go out there and be a field goal kicker.

Crosby... credited Woodson with helping him pull out of a potentially career-damaging tailspin.

“Watching him, it just looked like he was pressing,” Woodson recalled in a phone interview. “I told him, ‘Right now, you’re a guy who’s out there trying to kick field goals instead of just being a field goal kicker.’ I told him, ‘If the team asked me to go out there and kick a field goal, then I would be just a guy trying to kick a field goal. I might make it, I might not. That’s not how it should be [for you]. Stop being a guy trying to kick field goals and go out there and be a field goal kicker.'”

“That’s when I kind of came out of it,” Crosby said as he recounted the conversation Wednesday morning on Green & Gold Today on ESPN Milwaukee. “It was just kind of like, ‘Yeah! I’m aiming every detail, I’m trying to make kicks instead of focusing on everything behind that.’ I’m so thankful for that.

You have to be deep, deep in the weeds of doubt to have that make any sense. I *think* I get it.

But its clear Crosby did. And I am glad Chuck was able to get through to him. Mainly because Slocum wasn't.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

I'm going to give you a little advice. There's a force in the universe that makes things happen. And all you have to do is get in touch with it, stop thinking, let things happen, and be the ball.

He don't make no two buck chuck.
But Rodgers leads the league in frumpy expressions and negative body language on the sideline, which makes him, like Josh Allen, a unique double threat.

I've never mentioned that I ran into Charles Woodson in a club in Ann Arbor a few years back, and he helped me out, too. I was telling a good friend at a table that I was suffering from EDS with my new girlfriend because she was so hot I was afraid I wouldn't be able to please her. Not even the Cialis was working, I was so nervous. Chuck overheard me, and he told me "You look like a guy who's trying to f_&!@ girls instead of just being a girl f_&!@er."

That's when I snapped out of it.

                Thanks, Chuck.

You would fire the man who brought mediocrity back to the Packers special teams! Are you nuts?
