  • Packers Sign Nick Perry

Reportedly 1 year for 5 million. No word on guaranteed money. http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/371740411.html
    I can't run no more
    With that lawless crowd
While the killers in high places
    Say their prayers out loud
But they've summoned, they've summoned up
    A thundercloud
They're going to hear from me - Leonard Cohen

On a 1 year deal, it's all pretty much guaranteed. Ya can't imagine the guy getting cut, fer instance.

Not a bad idea; I still don't think GB knows what they have with this guy.
TERD Buckley over Troy Vincent, Robert Ferguson over Chris Chambers, Kevn King instead of TJ Watt, and now, RICH GANNON, over JIMMY JIMMY JIMMY LEONARD. Thank you FLOWER

Ted has to make it seem like his first round picks are worth a damn

Oh, right. Ted only wants to protect his reputation.

I think it's a great deal. Packers get flexibility and Perry gets a one-year audition to try to get that big contract. I like it.

Perry...was receiving interest around the NFL but apparently wanted to stay with the Packers and was willing to settle on a short-term deal.
So much for the argument that he didn't want to play in a 3-4 and would look for a landing spot as a DE.

Contract drive successful. Everyone is welcome.

                Only Mike Neal is left.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

There are a lot of threads that I need to bump.

Of course, he's never let one go after his rookie deal.

This will be his 5th year, right? The Pack declined to pick up the 5th year team option, and signed him back for a lower amount.

I think he played quite well and is an ascending player. This seems like a good deal for both sides, simple deal that doesn't take much negotiating; Pack retains him for another year and can negotiate an extension if they decide they like him. Perry doesn't get locked into a long contract that could be lower than he deserves because it took him a while to adjust and was hampered by some injuries. After missing time the first two seasons, he has played in 15 games the last 2. He also recorded as many sacks this post-season as he did during the regular season!

I wish we'd managed to get more than a rental although back to back contract years are nice.

Perry can still be as good as he wants to be.*

Sherrod and Harrell are the only ones who were let go after their rookie deal.

He also graded out as the best run defender on the edge...which is likely his biggest value to the team.

Are the Packers going to a 4-3 and using him as a defensive end? Because he is a terrible linebacker
