When those around you are facing the Reaper, it tends to put things in perspective.

Iirc, Raji comes from a close knit, devout and good family.

I'm surprized he's retiring....or is he !? He may be taking time off for Family matters and in that time see if the juices come back to play in the NFL again like he once did.so well.

Something was wrong with BJ Raji. I saw him just look like he was going through the motions in too many games especially that in the 2014 Season.

I must say that of all the retirements we experience as NFL fans. This one does surprize me.

He could have been replaced with a HS DT and maybe the Packers 'D' might have looked better on the DL. He was easily pushed around and generally in the games I watched and I often keyed on his errrrrr play....he looked disinterested.

His family attachments are obviously very intense. Missing the 2014 season was said to have shown him how much playing meant to him, causing him to work extremely hard to reshape his workout routines, diet and everything he could to prolong his career. Last fall he was said to be in the best shape of his career and lighter than he had ever been as a pro. He even said he did it all so he could play well into his 30s, and that staying in GB and working with the younger players as he did during the 2014 season showed him how much he would enjoy coaching eventually.

I never questioned whether or not he was an honorable man. I do question whether or not he played hard every down.
