If you take out the hail mary, Richard Rodgers averaged 8 yards per catch. That's really hard to do.
If you take out the stupid passes to Rodgers in the flat/TE screen/swing passes that almost never works, I'd bet that average ticks up towards 10-11.

Sometimes it's the player. Sometimes it's the play call.

they run it because they expect him to break a tackle and turn the ball up field, but he has no fluidity on those catches.

Does anyone know if Rodgers improved upon his 1.7 YAC from the 2014 season?

            Not unless he grew taller.

Unless he suddenly gains a lot of balance, I don't think you'll see a lot of YAC from Rodgers. That dumpoff to the flat for 3 yards was pretty awful to watch, especially when it was a CB knifing in to take out Rodgers' legs and watch him flop over. I like Rodgers and think he's a good #2 TE, but he's not fast and not a good blocker either. Would like to see a faster, athletic TE to threaten the middle, and a good blocking TE as the #3. I don't think Backman is going to be the answer to either.

Bennett would have been a great addition, but there's no way Chicago would trade within the division.

Imagine what the meeting room and locker room will be like with Bennett and Gronk. There's a couple of personalities.

One would think by now they would know RR can't break a tackle to save his life. All a LB or DB has to do is sneeze at him and he topples over.

It is pretty depressing to watch.
