Some would say that the people who selected Burks were the winners of this guessing game. Some would be wrong. Burks technically was the first person cut, but only technically because he was swapped with a Viking discard. The player who lost his job to clear to 53 was Dorleant, which HW predicted.

ps. I hope this finding by the Rules Committee is a lesson to those who voted for Burks after he was released.

McCarthy said they're looking at 5 being ready for Jax, so they've apparently already ruled Davis and Janis out for week 1.

I think clearly any time you have a roster where the number swings one way or the other it affects the way you play the game and the way you play on special teams ... the numbers at both receiver and the defensive backfield. We have two guys who are hurt...we’ll probably be working five receivers this week.
