Whew..broke tradition but got a win. Maybe time for a new tradition.

    Starks is done, nothing left.
Jordy needs to find his sure fire hands.
Cobb got his bell rung, hope he doesn't enter the protocol.
    O Line awesome.

    • Should have many more points on 400 yards offense. Turnovers and penalties stopped them dead.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

      • Oh, and by the way...fuck Josh Sitton and fuck the Bears.

OTOH, Packer pass D will be challenged today. Shields and Randall are out.

but it was to adams so it might have been the wr's fault
Adams dropped his hands. We're lucky it wasn't picked.

Perhaps because our WRs suck at getting separation?

Jordy didn't have that great a night. He had a couple of nice catches but a couple of drops and one bounced off his hands for a Gmen INT.

IMO this is a major problem for us and why our offense sputters at times.

I thought all of our O linemen had a good night. NY paid a lot of $$ for those pass rushers and Rodgers had all day back there. Too bad our WRs stink at getting separation.

I was confused at first too - but it was Kentrell Brice - Safety that was active.

                          • Yeah, Kentrell is Tank's favorite safety. Brian Price is a D lineman who showed some good hustle in camp.

I'm really coming to this conclusion as well. If the DB doesn't make a mistake, the Packers WRs are not open. The next time Devante Adams comes back and fights for a pass will be the first time. I'm about 90% on board with Bretsky about this guy. Tons of talent and no heart.

                              • I can't type fast enough to post during the game and still follow it good, so I'll give my observations now.

As I predicted, a win but we didn't maximize things. I was a lot more pleased with McCarthy's play calling - early especially but really most of the game - in terms of passing on early downs and setting up the run. I was especially pleased with my favorite target to criticize: our O Line. They played their ass off most of the game both in pass protection and run blocking. Lacy ran like a beast; I hope the ankle doesn't slow him down in future games. Aaron Rodgers didn't have his best night, but I'll take him on an off night over just about anybody else at their best. Yeah, the line blocked for him a lot better than usual, but how about that escapability. Nelson made a couple of great catches, but generally he played like crap. He isn't running like before the injury, and no excuse for the 4 or whatever drops. Another guy I like to criticize, Davante Adams, was damn good tonight, although he reverted a few times. Hard to tell if he ran bad patterns or Rodgers was just off target several times. I'm surprised to see so much criticism of Starks in here. I thought he had pretty good burst and cuts. He was a step or so away from a big gainer a couple of times. They need to keep using Ripkowski instead of a TE at FB. This was a damn good Giant defense that we beat up on; Their DBs may have been depleted, but the ones they played did damn good in coverage. Things could have been better yet, but I'm satisfied.

On defense, this was another Capers gem, and a LOT of players executed excellently. Our DBs almost shut down Beckham, and they totally shut down Cruz and Shepherd, two damn good WRs. I really like Rollins' athleticism and Gunter's coverage instinct or whatever, and Hyde was great. Our D Line - whoever was rotated in - did a great job of pressuring Eli, and they did great stopping the run. I saw the Giants O Line run right over the Cowboys D a few weeks ago; They couldn't budge our guys. Martinez and Ryan did good against the run, but they let a mediocre TE get deep on them a couple of times.

Who the hell made the decision to pick up this all out piece of crap punter over Masthay and Mortell? Kickoff coverage kinda sucked too. Slocum's fault? Somebody needs to clean it up.

It seems like the league is consciously trying to take away that Packer advantage of free plays with quick whistles on off sides and that illegal shift thing when they hurry up before the opponent gets its players off the field.

All in all, we made a good opponent look kinda bad. The Packers were ragged at times, but they fixed a lot of things.
What could be more GOOD and NORMAL and AMERICAN than Packer Football?
