  • More Banjo: Week 11 @ Washington

Started out well on defense, went downhill immediately after that. Offense moved the ball after the first quarter but still not very dynamic. Did see three big plays finally.

If Randall doesn't come back soon, they are going to have to play zone and play it much much better than they were. Martinez looked lost in Run D without Ryan. Bad sign. Broadcast almost never mentioned Ryan but his absence hurt. Thomas and Martinez are basically weak side WILLs and neither is blocking defeater.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

    Under McCarthy

Packers were 5-6 in 2013 and got a Wild Card.
Packers were 4-4 in 2009 and nabbed a Wild Card.
Packers were 5-7 in 2008 on way to 6-10 season (Rodgers first as starter)
Packers were 4-8 in 2006 and finished 8-8

    Not looking good.

D pooped the bed. O looked competent in stretches but not enough to score 40+.

Go to think MM should let Capers go and see if Winston Moss is a keeper or not as D Coordinator.
But Rodgers leads the league in frumpy expressions and negative body language on the sideline, which makes him, like Josh Allen, a unique double threat.

I don't think Moss is up to the task.

The only GM I would look forward to replacing Thompson is McCloughan. But no way he gets out of Washington.

Here's the thing about Scot McCloughan. He's going to put together good, deep, aggressive teams wherever he goes. Dude is a genius.

McCarthy: We're going to rally & stick together. This is a great group of men. I don't question that part, but we need to perform better.

RODGERS TOMORROW. NEED TO SLEEP THIS OFF.

                Sedagive!?!?!?!?!?!?
One time Lombardi was disgusted with the team in practice and told them they were going to have to start with the basics. He held up a ball and said: "This is a football." McGee immediately called out, "Stop, coach, you're going too fast," and that gave everyone a laugh.

McCloughan is also a drunk, or at least he was. He's lucky his old man was a NFL scout and his NFL "networking" is outstanding. Not many folks get to drink themselves out of a job and then another job just to get another job.

                  No thanks.

One word: J-Mac. Make him king and let him run the whole she-bang.

The question that remains unanswered today is how Aaron Rodgers personal life is affecting his leadership of the defense.

“They can’t run the ball and they have trouble pass protecting,” an unnamed personnel executive told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “Not a good combination.”

No one wants to be labeled as a bad football team. If the Green Bay Packers aren’t one now they’re getting extremely close to it.

I think the pass protection thing, in combo with a disappearing pass rush, is the most alarming late development. Not sure the run blocking is terrible, Starks and Monty had some good runs.

The pass pro improved when they took Barclay out of there.
