Last two games certainly make it look like the Pack has found an answer at RB.

Does Montgomery move into the third-down-back role soon? Start him another game or two, just to show some respect, then turn it over to A. Jones?

I don't think the plan was ever to have Monty be exclusively a third down back. I imagine Stubby will move them around like chess pieces, with no easily discernible rhyme or reason, necessitating a long thread with extensive statistically murky back-and-forths between Vince and PBmax, dissecting the essential nature of their duality.

Until they both get hurt and Davante Mays is elevated to the starting role and we ponder the mystery of how Williams could be a fourth round pick on anybody's board.

That's some funny chit. All kidding aside, it really does open things up offensively. Is Monty a running back, slot receiver, wide out?

                Scroedinger's Halfback
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Haha that's perfect Ayn. Except that the numbers bring clarity not fog, illuminating the nature of multi-variate relationships that are otherwise difficult or impossible to understand. They're why (and how) artificial intelligence is destined to control the universe.

Hell let's get it started....They're both dual threats with different strengths, so I don't doubt McCarthy and the analytics team could develop some unique ways for Rodgers to dynamically enhance each other's impact on the team. Depending on field position, game time temperature, defensive alignment and sickle cell blood counts, ...OK never mind then.

                      LOL
One time Lombardi was disgusted with the team in practice and told them they were going to have to start with the basics. He held up a ball and said: "This is a football." McGee immediately called out, "Stop, coach, you're going too fast," and that gave everyone a laugh.

I have two observations, one that should stand to scrutiny and one that is hard to measure:

                          1. Jones looks like a running back especially when he is moving through the hole and deciding whether to initiate or try to avoid contact. His decision making is crisp and accurate (plus he can make someone miss). Monty, even when he is going well (and he has a good average per carry), looks less decisive and his decisions backfire more often.

                          2. Jones runs lower to the ground, Monty is very upright, to the point where he takes contact in his chest rather than shoulder pads.

I'd like to see video of some of Jones' runs in HS. I know he was a workhorse in college. You wonder how much his running style has changed with a load of carries.

In one version of reality only an atom's width from our current one, he's pulled a hamstring.
