yes, I think they used that rule to penalize a dirty hit. But technically, I don't these the flag was correct.

I don't know what separates receiver from runner while tackling, but you can't go helmet to helmet unless you have a running coming at you basically.

Adams was held up and helpless. That hit was sick ! Was it Danny Trevathan?

When a player is being held up by 2 players with no way to go up, down, or sideways, and a defender targets his head with a running start. That is the classic definition of a defenseless player being targeted. That player should have been removed from the game.

running backs use their helmet as weapon against defenders all the time. Those defensive guys are just standing there.

I agree about runners. But he wasn't running. he was going to the ground in a tackle. Plus the ref, perhaps incorrectly, called him still a receiver. The transition point is unclear.
