ratings have been slipping for 2 or 3 years, before trump turned the kneeling into an anti america issue

its part of a much bigger picture, TV viewership is down bigtime all across the board. nfl is actually losing viewers and a slower rate then everything else

get rid of the early sunday games that no one wants, get rid of the thursday shit, stop letting teams move all over the place and shit on the fans that have spent a ton of money on them over the years and already filled their stadiums. and let defenses play again

also the whole CTE thing with parents not letting their kids play anymore is also going to have an impact.

and then finally, yes, the kneeling issue is turning people off because trump has told them that the move is anti american

add all those up, and you have a problem, but still not as big as a problem as everything else on TV
