      • I like Davis well enough... excellent size and toughness; but, I do have some concerns about him at the next level.

He has average speed for the position, and to compensate for that lack of an extra gear, he is very grabby. In watching some of his highlights he was flagged for PI - and I thought there were an awful lot of other plays that could just as easily been flagged.

He had a terrible combine, and looked very stiff in position drills... his footwork and transition were very sloppy. Looked like he had tight hips.

I guess he fits in that rd 2-3 range... I had him as more of a 3rd rounder.

I'll be ecstatic with ** this Pick ** at NO.45 if he's still on the Board. Mike Mayock has him rising in his last Early Rounds Draft Assessment and some Team will scoop him before NO. 45.:

And how is that working out? Hunter looks a lot like dickrod to me.

            • The Detroit Lions refuse to wow anyone and with the 51st selection: Frank Ragnow Interior offensive lineman, Arkansas. Nothing jumps off the charts about this kid other than he is going to be very solid for the lions. He has the makeup to be a good to very good starter in the NFL and the Lions need some consistency in the run game. Ragnow isn't the most athletic offensive lineman in the draft but when he can commit to playing the game full time he will work on technique that will make up for his lack of athleticism.

                • The early part of this draft for the Ravens is all about getting Joe Flacco some more weapons. After getting WR Calvin Ridley in the first round they look to get him some additional help. With TE being a glaring hole they select Mark Andrews, TE, Oooooooooooklahoma. With Andrews being in the pass-happy Oklahoma offense, he comes to the pros as arguably the top pass-catching TE in the class. He's essentially a big WR and will be a mismatch for both LBs and Safties, and given his 6'5" frame, his red-zone value cannot be overstated. His blocking needs some work, but technique can be learned and getting into a pro-level strength program will only help him as well in that area. Ozzie Newsome can walk away happy from his last draft knowing that he got 2 fantastic offensive weapons.

I watched some film on him, and my primary concern is that NFL level WR running complex routes will confuse him. When he's not playing press he doesn't mirror the WR well while he's in his backpedal and doesn't react well to comeback routes, resulting in some bad tackling angles. He's a willing tackler at the LOS, but (probably due to his lack of top end speed) can be baited into chasing a WR down the field on run downs.

Apparently he got burned a bit vs Clemson, but I couldn't find any highlights.

He is definitely a press corner.

                            • Carlton Davis. He played a lot of man or 2 read coverage at Auburn. When you play man you are going to get beat from time to time and you have to use your hands. Against Clemson his coverage seemed to be good, lost some against slants and good thrown balls down field.

My take on Davis. He is really really long. his arms are long. He does a nice job of reading and reacting and keeping his eyes on the receiver. At first his footwork bothered me, but when you play man you can't give up three read steps because you will get eaten up on slants. Speed didn't seem to be an issue for him on the field, guys didn't catch balls because they got by him, they caught balls on him because he lost position and didn't get his head turned around in time. He looks stiff in the lower half of his body, I think you would like a more fluid hips out of the guy, not terrible. He likes to hit and doesn't get out of position and keeps ball carriers in front of him which you want from your corners.

I think Kevin King was a little more fluid as an athlete coming out of college but you can give up a little athleticism if you are drafting a guy to play on the outside in press coverage. You need height and instincts. I think he gets beat on comeback routes. He will be forced to turn and run more often at the next level which either he will have to adapt to or mover to safety. He seems like he could play safety if nothing else.

In my mind he would be worth a second round pick, and if you were forced to reach the bottom of the first round.

                              • Although they signed the under performing Star Lotulelei in the offseason, the Bills recognize good value when they see it. With the 53rd pick in the 2018 NFL draft, the Buffalo Bills select Harrison Phillips DT Stanford.
