  • R.I.P. Dwight Clark

    Dead at age 61 from ALS/Lou Gehrig's Disease.

    Dwight Clark

    @DwightC87
    I’m heartbroken to tell you that today I lost my best friend and husband. He passed peacefully surrounded by many of the people he loved most. I am thankful for all of Dwight’s friends, teammates and 49ers fans who have sent their love during his battle with ALS. Kelly Clark.

    I can't run no more
    With that lawless crowd
    While the killers in high places
    Say their prayers out loud
    But they've summoned, they've summoned up
    A thundercloud
    They're going to hear from me - Leonard Cohen

    He considered himself the greatest person alive. Now he's dead. I remember you yelling at that little kid who just wanted your autograph in '90. RIP Dwight. James 4:6.

      Was he having a bad Browns kinda day? Wait, in 1990 he was not yet a part of Browns 2.0.

      I've heard (never met) he was far more approachable than Montana.

      I worked in sports for 6 years so I don't get wowed by athletes often, but one of the coolest experiences I've had was having Dwight Clark at my house in 1992 and drinking beers with him, Vinny Cerrato and my buddy Remzi Kiratli. Dwight made The Catch yet couldn't have been nicer
      Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

        Ya it’s one of those things where my only interaction with him was him being an asshole to a little kid. Postgame Niners vs Tampa bay. He was doing post game commentary. Oh well.

            That catch was the start of the 49ers dynasty. Loved it because they beat the Cowboys. Learned to hate the 49ers later.
