          Dude's making about 10% more/season than Matt Ryan's deal.
All hail the Ruler of the Meadow!

How are you coming up with that? All it say is 100 mil guaranteed and 33.5 in new money

I'm glad this deal is done. Brings a good vibe to the beginning of the season. I'd love to see Reid here, but the NFL seems to be blackballing him. What a shame.

That 33.5 is per year. Ryan's contract averages something like 30, right?

It does not say 33.5 per year

"Jones says the contract includes $33.5 million in new money, incentives each year and more than $100 million in guaranteed money."

You guys need to get in the same hymnal. ESPN has it as $33 mil per year, 3 mpy more than Ryan.

                            From APC:
The negotiation over Aaron Rodgers’ next contract has finally reached its conclusion. According to NFL Network’s James Jones, the Green Bay Packers and Rodgers have agreed to a four-year extension worth $134 million in new money. As part of the deal, Rodgers will receive $80 million between signing and March 2019, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.

The deal, which reportedly includes over $100 million in guarantees, shatters the previous record for highest average annual value ($30 million per year, held by the Atlanta Falcons’ Matt Ryan). It remains unclear whether Rodgers’ new contract replaces his old one or simply attaches additional years and money to the existing agreement. In the latter scenario, the Packers would have their franchise signal-caller on the books through the 2023 season at a total cost of nearly $175.7 million. Such a contract would keep Rodgers in Green Bay through his 40th birthday.

So the extension is $33+M/year, but the actual average including the current two is $29.3M which is a bit more manageable.
