Yep, beat Patriots and then lost to the Steelers in a game that was well within reach.

I also thought about Bud Carson, partial architect of the Steel Curtain as Browns head coach, but thought he lasted only one season and was dumped. However, he lasted 1.5 seasons and in his first, with Marc Trestman as OC (hired at the recommendation of Bernie Kosar and embarrassed on a national telecast by Bill Walsh), they beat the Bills in the Divisional Round before losing, once again, to the fucking Broncos and horse face. Was the 3rd and final loss to those bastards in this stretch, but they were not done haunting me.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

The NFL network does this top 10 show and one was Top 10 "what ifs." We should do a thread on what ifs or at least: "What if Elway actually signed with Baltimore?" I didn't agree with their conclusions (they thought the Browns would move to St. Louis). The shock waves of that change would have been interesting (I think that the Browns win at least one Super Bowl and they never leave Cleveland)

I could see that. And I was always of two minds about the Browns in the Super Bowl. They were tougher against the run, but if you could get time, you could pass against the maniacal devotion to man to man, bump and run coverage, especially to TEs.

Which means of NYG, Washington and San Fran, each would have been a tough matchup. I tend to think they actually were most even with the 49ers, but the Giants could be had as well. No one in the playoffs was stopping Rypien and the smurfs. Those guys made Timmie Smith a SB MVP.

For those asking about Josh Jones (ankle), I don't think he would have played a significant role today. He's pretty far behind Kentrell Brice on the depth chart, and the coaches might have Jermaine Whitehead ahead of him too based on recent comments praising Whitehead. #Packers

The Washington SB was the Doug Williams 5 TD destruction of Denver. I think the Browns would have won that one.

Mixed up my Joe Gibbs QB's did I? Did I get at least Timmy Smith right?

                  checks

OK, was almost 2/3. Wiliams at QB, Sanders still at WR for one smurf, honorary smurf Gary Clark and amazing flash in the pan Timmy Smith.

                      Go Pack Go.

                      Pack win 24-17.
But Rodgers leads the league in frumpy expressions and negative body language on the sideline, which makes him, like Josh Allen, a unique double threat.

So Jones is damned with praise to Whitehead. This does not bode well for Jones's future, nor for the Packers' future with him.
