Going to try and focus on Burks tonight ... we really, really need him to become a player.
The Packers habitually spit on good LBers early in the draft, so if all we're ever going to get is 3rd-5th round spitballs at the position, then some of these guys need to start being hits.
Next year, I wouldn't be surprised if the only holdovers from this year are Martinez, Gilbert, and Burks. Maybe they keep Clay around on a reduced salary, but he's average now, so it doesn't matter one way or the other.
As for Burks, I watched him a bit last week... he wasn't good at all. Same lack of instincts he showed in college. Hated the pick, but as I said, we really need him to step up, so I'm hoping to see improvement.wistComment
