    Are we selling the farm?

    Well, that explains this Tweet:

    Ha Ha Clinton-Dix @haha_cd6
Much love y’all ::cheese wedge emoji::
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Its a rental for part of one year. 4th is pretty good price at this late date. 4th round pick for what, nine games?

I'd like to see the other Josh - Jackson - get a shot at playing Safety. For whatever reason - lack of speed? - he hasn't thrived at Corner. To me, he seems like a potentially excellent ball hawking Safety.

If they had kept him for the season, then let him go, what might they have gotten as a compensatory pick?

And does this signal a kind of "soft rebuild" this year? If so, does the coach get "rebuilt" after the season, too? Or does he get an extension?

This is where I don't like the command structure. MM can complain to Murphy that his talent's been stripped. And Gutekunst can't replace MM but might have to work with him - I can't imagine MM is onboard with stripping a starting safety off a team he's trying to get to the playoffs with.

Yup, and it is better compensation than they would have received for losing him in free agency.
                      - First, it will be a year earlier than any FA compensation for losing him next off season.
                      - Any regular fourth round pick is better than any fourth round compensatory pick.
                      - I highly doubt HHCD will sign a contract large enough that it would have merited third round compensation, probably not even fourth round.
                      - It is guaranteed compensation to the Packers that will not be offset by any free agents the Packers might sign next off season.

If the Packers had made the decision to let him leave in free agency, this guarantees them a higher pick and a year earlier than any likely compensatory pick they MIGHT have gotten in return, and all they gave up was 9 games of his services. Very shrewd move.

It's a bad deal only if they wanted to re-sign him. I think this makes it clear that they did not.

Its definitely messing with the command structure I had created in my head.

There seem to be two most likely possibilities: Stubby is guaranteed a new contract, and he'll be excused for fewer winds because they dropped these guys, OR, They know they are canning Stubby at the end of the year, so they don't care if they take players away from him.

Sitton and Randall were both problems. Removing both was a personnel problem; Randall was so much a problem that Stubby was able to hold it off until the season was over. Given that they got rid of problems when they cropped up, as much as possible, I think Stubby isn't too frustrated getting rid of Ha Ha (was he really playing all that well, anyway?) and Monty (maybe a problem, but nt so much with the emergence of the rookie WRs).

I now think Stubby is locked in.

Pettine played Tramon at safety for Browns... does Tramon take over??
