The Jets were McCarthy's most serious pursuer, but it became clear he was not going to mesh with their direction
Some of this sounds like what convinced Murph to fire him. I can just see him thinking he is the inside choice and start making stupid demands "well...I am not going to answer to the GM...who better fucking not be russ ball!"The only time success comes before work is in the dictionary -- Vince Lombardi

Article about comments by Bakhtiari about what went wrong in Green Bay.
https://packerswire.usatoday.com/201...ccountability/Bakhtiari describes a deteriorating culture inside the Packers locker room. Players late to team flights or meetings went without punishment. Same for underperforming players.
“There’s needs to be that fear, for guys across the board, that, “Hey, your job is consistently being judged, and you have to perform,'” Bakhtiari said.
Bakhtiari said the lack of accountability trickled down and festered in “multiple avenues” within the team. That same lack of discipline often manifested on the field, in the form of game-changing mistakes, turnovers and penalties.
Mike McCarthy’s team lacked the urgency and direction from start to finish in 2018.I can't run no more

I think the lack of accountability though was an issue from the 1st game of the year, before injuries destroyed the depth.Originally posted by pbmax View PostI wonder how much lack of accountability coincides with a lack of depth?I can't run no more

Could be. But the declining talent on the team didn't develop just last year. Perhaps on a team with more pieces, those issues get resolved faster because you have to play your butt off to hold a job?Originally posted by Joemailman View PostI think the lack of accountability though was an issue from the 1st game of the year, before injuries destroyed the depth.
For instance, Seattle, which is forever extolling the virtue of Pete Carrol's compete for every rep approach. It worked far better for the defense than, say, their offensive line. But I do suppose it possible all those high round picked lineman were goofing off too.Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.
