Does it occur to anybody that the Associate Head Coach might consider himself the logical Interim Coach - and make a stink about it when somebody else got chosen? That would seem to be the most likely route to getting canned.

That was my first thought too. Perhaps he was pissed he didn't get the interim job so he wanted to take a shot across the bow at Philbin, Murphy and Gute.

This seems like the most likely scenario. Especially since I bet he sees himself as no nonsense.
