  • Possible McCarthy Replacement

    Mike Shanahan.

Kyle Shanahan was asked about rumors that the Packers are interested in his Dad coming back to coaching. Kyle said he thought his dad was intent on retirement.

I am very conflicted about this. He's old. He's a cheater. He murdered RGIII's knee. But he has been a good coach before. And I would root for him before Urban *&^$%! Meyer.

But oh how the press would fawn. McGinn is writing a December football column as we speak. Its filled with comments about toughness, size, running the ball and mud as we speak. Its his favorite time of the year. Yet he had to take a break to fan himself after the rumor was sent to him by fax.

I'd bet Ol' Shanahan once met Lombardi at a soda shop and talked kick out blocks. I bet he has extended family that live in Oconto.

Bobble and Fritz aren't sure what to think, but they love the idea of running Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams down the NFC North's throat.

Whoever made up the story on the internet might be histories greatest troll monster.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

      HG2 > SHANNY1

But I could get behind this
TERD Buckley over Troy Vincent, Robert Ferguson over Chris Chambers, Kevn King instead of TJ Watt, and now, RICH GANNON, over JIMMY JIMMY JIMMY LEONARD. Thank you FLOWER

Shanny1 had 1 winning season out of his last 6. He's been out of the league for 5 years. Just Say No.

If it's an old Mike, I like APB's idea of Martz better - or even Sherman for that matter.

I'm still betting it will be somebody that no one in here has suggested and few have even heard of.
What could be more GOOD and NORMAL and AMERICAN than Packer Football?

                I'd much prefer Kyle Shanahan.

Is he a Mike Jr., or Mike III?

Maybe he just goes by a middle name?

If you can't beat 'em, join 'em.

Or make a crappy knock off.

Mrs. QBME and I met Mike Shanahan and Mrs. Shanahan briefly several years ago in Las Vegas. (2004?) We shared a small cocktail table in a casino while each of us waited for some friends. Having a drink with them was cool. Guy was a total tool. Maybe that's what it takes to run an NFL team.

BTW, he paid for the cocktails.

If he paid at least he has some self awareness. Was he just orange or ULTRA orange?

Somewhat wise guys on Twitter saying the fact that SF picked up this rumor probably not a coincidence. Shanahan Sr. making a play to get his name out there.

I am not with Fritz on the anti-college HC bandwagon, but I do like the idea of promoting a coordinator from somewhere. Anyone think Jim Tomsula can win a Super Bowl as HC? That would be something you could lord over every other fan group in the League.

"McCarthy then Tomsula. Even with a mulligan, we have five Super Bowls."
