  • Bears Week II discussion thread, the BEARS STILL SUCK

I've been seeing more Bears fans breaking out their gear lately and it just serves to remind me that I hate the Bears.

They are playing some stellar defense this year but they have lost their slot corner so there might be a small (very small) crack to exploit. Of course, if Rodgers is running for his life and throwing balls OOB then he won't have much chance to do so.

On the other side of the ball, their offense is so-so. Nagy has been creative and gets lauded for some of his "fun" play designs but the reality is that Trubisky is just not that good. If Pettine can get him confused he might start throwing the ball to Alexander. A key to this game will be Pettine and how much he can squeeze out of that depleted defense.

This will be a tough game. The Bears are playing better football this year, but they are not the 85 Bears and can still be had.

If the Packers win only 1 game for the rest of the year I want it to be this one. I've been sleepwalking through this year as much as the team has. Time for all of us to get off of our butts and do this right, time to revel in one more hate-filled rivalry week and give 'em hell.

    THE BEARS STILL SUCK.

+1. I live in the Flatland amongst them, and it is becoming irritable.

I'll never forgive the Bears for them making the Packers celebrate the 2011 Nfccg in their dinky crappy locker room.

I've been thinking about this game from Rodgers's first year as a starter: https://www.pro-football-reference.c...0811160gnb.htm

The Packers struggled a lot that year but GB ran Ryan Grant 25 times for 145 yards in this game and just controlled it on the ground start to finish. It was the most satisfying game that year.

I was there for the first Packer Bear game ...... I mean this year, not 1918 or whatever hahahaha.

I want to see a lot of what worked in the 4th quarter that night for the whole game - with a few change of pace runs mixed in.

The Rams lost to the Bears because Goff threw four interceptions. I'll guarandamntee you Rodgers won't do that.

The injury report on the Packers offensive line may determine whether the Packers have a decent chance to win this game.

And I better not hear anyone here say the Packers would be better off losing to the Bears so we can get a higher draft pick.

Yes, the Bears still suck... but they're a much better football team than we are.

It sure seemed like the replacements did better than the regulars - at least no worse. After all these years, Aaron Rodgers has adjusted to playing QB with an absolute minimum of quality O Line blocking anyway.

+1 on your last line, though.

                        Packers crush the uninspired Bears.

I am not saying it's better to lose, but I am saying that when one door closes, a window may open elsewhere.

I would think the Packers' offense will struggle to score 20 points against that Bear defense, and I don't think Pettine can pull much more magic out of his hat.

So hire Vic Fangio as head coach, and kill two birds with one stone.
