two things: pb didn't hate on him. I think he wanted him gone sooner than he was. He was the 5th overall and chewing up a lot of cap under the old CBA vs a 4th (?) rounder on the cheap - kind of different expectations

Chewing up cap and underachieving is the Packer defensive way.
