  • The Cleveland Browns hiring former Packers coach Mike McCarthy could have ripple effects in Green Bay.

According to Dan Graziano of ESPN, if the Browns pick McCarthy as their new coach, he could push for current Packers co-director of player personnel Jon-Eric Sullivan as the team’s new general manager.
Perhaps this could open up a spot for Dorsey to return to Green Bay?

I wonder if the reduced role was reporting to DePodesta or an actual scale down of his duties?

I suppose it could also be a refusal to allow the analytics guys into the room when personnel decisions were being made.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Is this the guy Gutey promoted to his old spot or the guy from Baltimore?

If McCarthy brings in someone from Green Bay, Eliot Wolf almost has to leave.

This is not the guy from Baltimore. That's Hendrickson. Sullivan has been with the Packers since 2004.

          • Browns say they are hiring the HC first (someone with NFL HC experience) and then the GM. How can this possibly go wrong?

            • What astounds me is that it is so clearly bass-ackwards to do it this way but we see teams repeat the same mistake EVERY YEAR.

                Yup. Same.

It does give the GM the excuse of "the coach wasn't my hire" when CLE goes 5-11 and Haslem wants to clean house. Again.

                        • Luke Kuechly retires at age 28.

                          https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/...-retirement-28

Kuechly was the NFL Rookie of the Year in 2012 after being the ninth overall pick and the NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2013 and played an integral role in helping Carolina reach the Super Bowl after an NFL-best 15-1 2015 season. However, he missed 10 games in his NFL career due to concussions (3 in 2015; 6 in 2016; 1 in 2017), which may have led to his decision.

                              • He retired because the nfl told him to. Concussions was just the narrative they made up. See his fake rambling on nfl network? Kept looking down, reading his teleprompter. The date he retired and his birthday and jersey number are why he was retired before the games this week
