Dexter Williams ran well. And no pass protection problems of note. That’s rare for packer preseason.

      • I’m so sick of joe Webb. If he wasn’t a turnover machine, he’d be a pro bowler.

I think most his yards came late. But yeah the O line played OK.

                • Seems to me that from halftime on, Houston's second string put up 15 points on GB's third string...

Williams and then Jackson and Sullivan to groom inside.

                          • Clips galore here: https://twitter.com/riversmccown

I have not watched the game yet but the clips showed me on thing that worries me about Mount Adams. Against the closest thing to starters this game had. On that goal line score, he was a DE/DT and got completely washed out by a wham block (temporary double team with one guy peeling off to hit the second level). So no one on the front side won a battle and the RB was able to avoid Lancaster (I think) who beat a backside block and penetrated well.

But Lancaster had no speed or reach and couldn't get to the RB.

Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

                            • I was fortunate to be able to see the game here on the Texans NBC broadcast.

I expected that hardly any regulars would play - that seems to be the trend these days for all teams in the early preseason.

Kizer looked mediocre at best; Boyle looked good. I think/hope they get rid of Kizer - get a low round pick if possible, otherwise just cut him. I hope to see more of Wilkins passing. Keep Boyle as back up and Wilkins on the practice squad.

Dexter Williams looks like a keeper. I want to see what Corey Grant can do and maybe give Hall one more chance.

I'm about ready to give up on Moore - it seemed like he juggled the ones he caught and missed some others. It was a little bit hard to tell, though, if it was all his fault or partly Kizer. I'm more sold on Kumerow than before, and Shepherd and Lazard seem like they are more worth keeping than Moore. If we keep six, it's one of the three - Moore, Shepherd, and Lazard.

I'm guessing we keep 3 TEs and Mercedes Lewis gets cut, but that's far from sure.

Nobody that played in the O Line tonight looked all that great. Patrick was ok at Center, and it was down hill from there. I didn't see anything special from Light or de Beer, but our QBs didn't get sacked, so they must not have been completely horrible. Madison better show a helluva lot more than he showed tonight if he is gonna make the team.

On D, I'll give a large minus to Tyler Lancaster; Keke looked fairly fast and mobile, but it seemed like he got pushed around; Looney looked good against the Texan scrubs. Adams was decent but not great in the limited time he played.

I also thought Summers looked good, but I thought #40, Bolton looked even better. Crawford, the special teams ace looked pretty shitty from scrimmage. I could see him getting cut if a couple others step up in special teams. I don't know what to think about Burks. I was actually hoping he would step up this year, but maybe not.

On the Outside, Gilbert didn't impress me at all and Fackrell not much. Maybe against a less mobile QB or maybe if there is a stud OLB paired with them, but tonight they weren't great. I didn't think Gary seemed lazy, but he did seem a little bit confused or overwhelmed. Hopefully, he too will do better against a more conventional QB. #56, Randy Ramsay really looked good, although maybe it was because he played against the scrubs.

Did Josh Jones even play? I didn't notice him. Raven Greene looked great - seemingly faster and more muscular than last year. It seemed like Savage only was in for a few plays. Hopefully he's as good as advertized. Ibrahim Campbell is still listed by ESPN on the Packers roster. Does anybody know if he's really there? He supposedly has the same number - #39 - as Chandon Sullivan who seemed to come out of nowhere and looked like a keeper tonight. Jamerson is listed as a Corner, but he seemed to be playing Safety, and he seemed to be a step or two late just about all the time.

Hollman obviously looked good at Corner. The commentator said #48 Ento had been looking good in practice, but he looked pretty bad to me tonight.

Scott looked great, but then he was impressive in preseason last year, as I recall, and didn't quite play at that level in the regular season.

I think Crosby stays for another year. He wasn't great, but he seems to have a stronger leg than Ficken - and was pretty much straight down the middle for accuracy.

I was impressed that despite all the talk of more running, LaFleur had the team come out passing. I think that's recognition of what the O Line doesn't do well and the fact that he has mobile QBs, even other than Rodgers, who can survive without much pass blocking.
What could be more GOOD and NORMAL and AMERICAN than Packer Football?

Yet Gilbert and the other no-name OLBers played like conditioning wasn’t an issue. Saw a sack where a Packer LB (who?) attacked and sacked the QB like a shark after a bloody tuna.

Gary was everything Fritz said he was. His game didn’t arouse anybody. Lazily played at half speed. Didn’t hustle til the whistle. Avoided tackles like Haha Clinton Dix. Uninspiring.

And what’s up with that fucking center that Gute took over Metcalf or Isabelle? Did he don armor?
