I expect he will have a longer career as a reliable backup for some team(s) in the seasons to come, or as the starter who his team always wants to upgrade. In the end, he will have a ten year career playing for different teams every year or two, while starting only a few games each year. Hard working, dependable. Unfortunately for McCray, GB has a slug of interior linemen, including some younger with probably more potential.

    Some team somewhere will need him.

      Was just going to say that. I wonder if McCray asked for a release if he wasn’t in line to start?

        McCray is definitely the marshmallow Newhouse of our 2019 OL

          Gute still in charge of the roster.

          @ByRyanWood
          Can confirm RB Tra Carson was released, as @RapSheet reported. With Carson out, source said #Packers rookie RB Dexter Williams is expected to stay on 53-man roster as third tailback behind Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams. The plan is to keep the 3 tailbacks with FB Danny Vitale.

            McCray will be better if teams are smart and don't expect him to play much tackle.

              #Packers are releasing OLB Randy Ramsey, per source. The hope is he will be on practice squad. Must get through waivers first. That’s not a gimme.

              @TomSilverstein
              OT Yosh Nijman has been waived, but the Packers are interested in him returning to the practice squad, a source said.

              @ByRyanWood
              #Packers are releasing TE Evan Baylis, per source. The hope is that he will join the practice squad.

                I think Brian Hoyer has some sort of underhanded deal to only work with Belichick adjacent teams.

                  Darrius Shepherd has made the initial 53.

                  Bill Huber @BillHuberSI
                  Ditto Ka'DAr Hollman and Cole Madison.

                    McCray was traded to the Browns, who are short of offensive lineman.

                    @AdamSchefter
                    Two more Cleveland trades: Browns trade a 2020 draft pick to Packers for G Justin McCray, and another 2020 draft pick to Titans for WR Taywan Taylor.

                    Best news I've heard today. Two years ago, Rodgers and McCarthy said he was one of the team's MVPs. Versatile, good player and better dude gets reunited with ex-#Packers line coach James Campen with #Browns.

                    @TomSilverstein
                    I guess reports of Mr. McCray's demise were premature. Nice of him to get a shot with Browns OL coach James Campen, who loved McCray's grit and versatility.

                      #Packers OL Adam Pankey was released - hope is a return to practice squad.

                        You can always count on the Browns showing up at the Packers' garage sale.

                          #Packers rookie ILB Ty Summers really impressed this camp, and made improvements daily/weekly. He is on the initial 53.

                              One of the finest people to enter into the #Packers’ locker room during my eight years doing this thing. A tremendous story continues in Cleveland.

                              Congrats

                                Not bad guesses. Maybe both were size decisions? Looney (plays) smaller than Brown and Lazard too big (already have four large TEs - even though Lazard is WR, his fit would be inside, no?)
