These practice-squad signings are fickle. Case in point: Brady Sheldon went from not on the PS to on the PS, according to a source. Very fluid as players suddenly see another option.

Adam Pankey has decided to move on after spending most of 2017 and 2018 on the #Packers' practice squad.

OT Yosh Nijman (Bill Huber): Rookie offensive tackle has the size and athleticism but needs major development.

DL James Looney (Bill Huber): Few second-year players looked as improved as Looney this summer.

CB Kabion Ento (Ryan Wood): Receiver convert flashed impressive playmaking ability during camp.

OLB Randy Ramsey (Ryan Wood): Looks the part at outside linebacker and looked comfortable on special teams.

QB Manny Wilkins (Ryan Wood): The Packers like his athleticism and arm. He’ll most likely be the third quarterback.

WR Malik Taylor (Jim Owczarski): A bit of a surprise. He looked like the last receiver on the depth chart all summer.

TE Evan Baylis (Matt Schneidman): Versatile tight end can block and play any unit on special teams.

RB Tra Carson (Ryan Wood): He lost the roster battle to Dexter Williams but his reliability provides value as the fourth running back on the practice squad.

LB Brady Sheldon (Ryan Wood): He has good size and movement ability, and he progressively improved during the preseason. The Packers are thin at inside linebacker.

Signing Carson makes sense for depth. The others seem like developmentals/projects. Interesting that they only have one OL on there; I'm thinking Cole Madison will basically be on the 53 as a project for next year, with Nijman on the PS. In another year they could provide some nice depth and competition.

Surprised by the ESB and Sheppard moves, and that Taylor in on the PS but not Lazard. I'm betting his agent is working some angle and he'll be on the PS as a fallback option.
