I absolutely never was very high on Spriggs. I liked his technique, but always said he was way too slight for NFL work. Your memory sucks to be honest as I LOVED Bakh early on. The thing you remember is that I say he is over rated as a pass blocker and under rated as a run blocker. When I point out that there are several better pass blockers in the league than Bakh, that is very different than me saying he sucks. Fans WAY over react to their hometown hero. Mathews was the MVP of the league and the next Reggie White. I pointed out that Cameron wake was better than Mathews. That doesn't mean I think Mathews blows, just taking off the rose colored glasses. When I say Bakh is nowhere near Trent Williams (maybe now he is) as a pass blocker, that isn't me saying he sucks. Right now I would say Bakh is probably around #3 as a pass blocker and #5 as a run blocker at LT (strangely people give him zero credit for his run blocking cuz its a popular thing to say).Originally posted by RashanGary View PostBabre and Spriggs. You were down on Bakh too. You pick top tier athletes. Some of them pan out, others don’t. And then the average athletes like Bakh or Tauch, sometimes they pan out, other times they don’t.
If you talked more about how they play football AND athleticism, I think you’d be even more accurate.
My track record on OL includes being all in on Scott Wells early. Recognizing Linsley early. Knowing that letting J.C. Tretter go was a mistake (he should have been starting at guard for US the last 2 years). I also was in College's corner when everyone here hated him...most still do....dude only started 137 of 141 games over a 9 year career. He must be bad. Should we talk about the praise I showered on Tausch his entire career?
I was pretty high on Sherrod, and I still think without a career ruining injury he was coming along. Once his footwork was destroyed he never recovered and was so busy compensating for that some of his better traits got lost.
If anything I am the EXACT opposite of what you claim. I constantly bitch about drafting athletes over football players. I was down on Gary from minute 1, but tried to not be fritz. You on the other hand were all in on the athlete who couldn't play football. The only time success comes before work is in the dictionary -- Vince Lombardi

Wow, you couldn't be more wrong. Babre was smallish and relied on leverage and positioning as a run blocker. Nimjin is a mammoth who uses his hands and size to overwhelm people.Originally posted by RashanGary View PostI just watched the game tape mraynrand put up. He’s one of the better run blockers I’ve watched. So damn coordinated and agile moving forward. His pass sets are lumbering and he’s susceptible to speed. Very Allen Barbresqe actually. The only time success comes before work is in the dictionary -- Vince Lombardi

Yoshua gets low by ducking his head and neck. He's gotta get that corrected.
He has a nice kick step but he got taken by speed a time or two and got beat on a two step outside-inside feint.
I think some of those bad looking reactions to D line movement are actually the play call. I am not through half time yet and they have run a draw play with pass option and a sprint out to the left three times. He is always down blocking and letting the DE alone until he has secured the interior from penetration and then checks the DE. Think that is the way it supposed to go.
That interior run draw might also have a kick out block coming if the QB chooses to hand to the FB.
A lot to like.Last edited by pbmax; 09-03-2019, 10:14 AM.Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Bobble,
Seemed like you had an excuse for Spriggs at every turn and maybe i misremember, but thought you were one of the, let’s replace Bakh with Spriggs camp.
As far as yosh, the comparison to barbre is not his size. That’s the differences between you and I. You’re constantly talking about height and weight and I’m talking about play style. You’re so obsessed with height and weight that even when I say, he plays better going forward and struggles with pass sets like Barbre, all you notice is height and weight. I did also say yosh is shockingly agile going forward and adjusting to blocks. Surprised me, and still does because of how big he is.
And me being impressed with Gary has as to do with watching three full game tapes where he played with power, leverage and speed, mixed with his commitment to football than just his physical attributes. However, his physical attributes are what make him uncommon. His length, strength and speed show up on game tape. That’s why Gary is my guy.
Yosh lumbers in his pass sets. That’s why he’s not my guy.
Your memory of my reasoning is no better than mine of yours apparently.Formerly known as JustinHarrell.

Bailey was into him, but it wasn't reciprocated. Jennifer tempted but they were on more equal footing to keep Arthur afloat. The show played it as though she was obviously out of everyone's league.Originally posted by mraynrand View PostI don't even remember. He never made a play for Jennifer did he? I have always wondered why that platinum/golden bombshell look came to dominate attention. Was it because it was rare? Consciously constructed? Played better with color movies/TV/photography? Or was it that a women who adopted that look was simply more aggressive in seeking out attention?
I might need to do some more research.Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

I remember arguing with you, thinking you didn’t know shit. Good call.Originally posted by bobblehead View PostPut that in perspective:
Dillard had a 4.4 and no one else beat 4.5 in SS. his 40 was top score. 27 reps was tied 10th. Vert tied 10th. Broad tied 5th. Pro day 3 cone easily best.
He is HUGE. He is up there with Dillard for athleticism (best OL in this draft). He needs work and maybe a season in an NFL weight room. I think he will be a player. I was right on Dillard. Allen Babre is my all time failure, but I have a good track record with OL. Nimjin will be a pro, no doubt in my mind.Formerly known as JustinHarrell.
