I think Garrett's helmet swing was bad but not impeachable.

I guess I would see it differently if it were a bit more successful, but the QB was laughing about it a few minutes later. Boys will be boys. Two-game suspension for going nuts.

There is padding that often overlaps the rim of the helmet opening. So its possible he knew what he was doing. But it should looked like he wanted to brain him. Can't let that go. He has to be out for the year.

Aikman said it's one of the worst things he's seen on a professional sports field. I wish people would stop with "one of the best" or "one of the worst". There's been so many things so much worse than that.

Really glad to hear people here not overreacting. I shut it off just before that but watched it this morning. Whatever. Not ideal, but in the realm of fired up human emotional reaction when playing a gladiator sport but trying to do it in a civilized manner.

I’m ok if they suspended him the rest of this year, but beyond that I’d be really, really disappointed. In an ideal world, you just have a heart to heart and see if you trust him and then let him back right away but this world is far from ideal

Yep. Rudolph needs to be taken down too. Fine, suspension or both, needs to be docked.

Meh, I think he was completely justified and frankly kept his cool. He could have ripped Garrett's helmet off and gone at him.

Garrett obviously needs to go, but anyone else suspect Rudolph is a jack wagon? Just on the basis of his reaction to the sack?

Though it's possible, I would argue there's no reason to suspect that. Garrett is a dirty player. There a lots of clips of him lingerie post sack, hitting late, etc. He clearly lingered on that tackle before going off.

Works if you are the parent. But in a world of professional competitors, it will escalate unless there is a downside.

If he had hit him with the crown, Garrett would be in police custody today. Those helmets are heavy and strong.
