I begrudgenly admit, the Vikings fans are really cool. I view myself as a salt of the earth northerner so I relate to them for sure.

There are an element of bandwagon jumpers but us hardcore guys love "our" team just like you guys. I've lived and died with them since the late 60's....mostly died.....well, OK always died.

Yeah, you guys are a great fan base for sure. Very similar to Green Bay. Even more northern flavor and I’m from upper penninsula of Michigan so it’s just like my people.

I will say I attended a Viking Bears game at Soldier Field sort of through work and the dudes I was partying with were awesome. They love their team like we love ours. I also tailgaited with some Bears fans in Minneapolis and had some beers with them and we had some cool football conversations.
My two questions to them were the following.

1) Who was the greatest Bear running back, Gayle Sayers or Walter Payton. I said Sayers and it was mixed.
2) Who was/is the greatest Bears linebacker, Butkus or Erlacher. We all agreed Butkus.

Erlacher was still playing then.
