Gotta love the pinnacle of software (eating the world) technology that can bring us the Twitter stylings of Jermaine Whitehead. Just think, decades ago you’d have to wait years before encountering him, fat old and out of work, in a local tavern, before you’d have a chance to confront him, argue, denigrate his football skills, and then have him threaten your life. Today, that can all happen in 15-20 seconds on Twitter. The efficiency of it all just amazes me. #goldenage

Pretty sure he just ended his pro career.
He's had stops in SF, GB, BAL, and CLE...and now this.

Really intelligent guy. Not being facetious. That's what makes him so hard to understand. Similar issue with the #Packers. Smart guy doing something just so foolish to jeopardize his NFL career. I don't get it.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

        • What Jason Wilde is forgetting is that social media is not an intelligence friendly space. It's more like the unconscious, where things have a way of following their own logic. So Whitehead is a marginal player, always on the cusp, who had just gotten abused and exposed. His NFL career was probably flashing before his eyes as soon as Fant ran him over. Someone then reminded the world of his undignified moment in a very public way. And he overreacted in the way that insecurity often does. Not such a big mystery. Or if you want a mystery, it would be do you bring a phone to the game at all. Leave it at home for when the sting wears off.

          • This looks like it happened at home (7:49 PM). But I agree about the rest. I think Wilde would too. He's just pointing out that Whitehead at other times appeared much smarter than this.

            • I thought I read that his Twitter timestamp was right after the game. If he took it home with him and then started spewing, then yeah, the crime of passion defense is not as compelling.

Could have been the Re tweet at that time.

Just because he's smart, doesn't mean he can't make stupid decisions.

And Wilde seemed to be hinting it wasn't the first he was aware of. I suspect he meant more than poorly timed personal fouls?

                        • I’m waiting for the inactive list, of both DTs are out for Chargers, imma bet on Raiders. Raiders have really good run game and short passing game. Perfect matchup against Chargers. Black hole....... Chargers coming off convincing win vs Packers so odds went toward them.

Just think it’s a good upset tonight (injuries pending)

                          • After the Lions' defense suffered another shellacking, Matt Patricia made clear that Paul Pasqua-ever was in charge of the defense and calling all the defenses. This seems a certain prelude to Pasqua-ever being fired if the Bears score more than 17 points.

                            • Going differently and better than I hoped. But I’ll take lucky bets cuz I gotta take the unlucky ones too.

                              • On a short week, I just expected the raiders offense to match up perfectly vs Chargers defense..... I didn’t expect 10 points on turnovers, but I’ll take it.
