OK, so how do you get the IMG tag on the paste?

Also mad at phone and Giphy for making Copy... a copy URL function and not a copy image function. Bad UX.

When I just copied and pasted Candy GIF, it just put it into the message as a link. Which makes some sense.

I manually edited the tag to IMG to see if the link of the image was legit. It was, kudos to you.

Just need way to get mobile site to provide [IMG] tags without having to go through 4 keyboard layouts.

Ok I didn’t catch that you are using mobile view. It doesn’t have the toolbar and needs the [img]image link[/img] entered manually.

Correct that urls will always auto hyperlink.

I think Aynrand brought this up not long ago and when I checked there was not a toolbar for Mobile Viewe. I will check what might be available.

Solving the giphy problem is the main thing. I was prepared to do the IMG tag on my own. But obviously, having it available on mobile site would be a plus.
