Hey, at least five of the nine teams won a playoff game.
Who had the worst DVOA to make the Super Bowl (not just 13-3 teams)?"There's a lot of interest in the draft. It's great. But quite frankly, most of the people that are commenting on it don't know anything about what they are talking about."--Ted Thompson

We’re probably gonna end up playing a team like the New Orleans Saints who have lots of weapons and a much better D.
If the Packers don’t significantly raise their level of play on January 12th it’s gonna be an ugly day.
Winners:
The Motown Cheerleaders. Whew. Young, twenty-something, athletic women with muscular yet feminine legs, thin waists, long, wavy hair, beautiful bouncing breasts. Outside of about five or six plays, that was the best part of the game for me.
The offensive line. I don't care what Tex says, that offensive line played great yesterday, at least in pass pro. Rodgers had all day to throw the ball most of the time. The run blocking was not as good, but I will say those two-yard runs from Jones in the first half became four and five yard runs in the second half.
Aaron Jones. He pretty much won the game with that last drive. He ran hard, blocked, he did it all. And then he kept the ball secure when Patricia was calling timeouts to force GB to run a couple plays before trying that winning field goal.
Davante Adams. He's a professional. No wonder Rodgers trusts him. You get him the ball, he catches it. Okay, he had a drop that would've been a touchdown, but okay. If I were an opposing coach, I'd focus on stopping him and Aaron Jones.
Lazard. He's clearly, clearly the number two receiver now. Just keep him on the field, man.
Losers:
Rodgers, Rodgers, Rodgers. I cannot say enough how bad, how off, his long throws were. I saw maybe five deep throws that would've resulted in big, big, gains, in which Rodgers overthrew wide open receivers. For most of the game it was overthrows. No air under the ball, throwing rockets. He overthrew Jones on what would have been a touchdown in the first half. He overthrew Adams on what would have been a touchdown. He overthrew Jimmy Graham, who was actually open on a long route. He overthrew MVS on another long route. Then Rodgers overcompensated in the fourth quarter, and put too much air under the ball and threw short. When he had Kumerow wide open, late in the game, about three steps ahead of his defender, Rodgers underthrew it and the defender made a play. That would've won the game. He also underthrew on his pick, and his man had a step on the defender there, too. Even his short throws were off - he threw bullets to guys five yards away. I walked out of Ford Field thinking that if the Packers see a QB they love in the next draft, they ought to take the guy. Rodgers seems lost in his own head. He's got no touch, his long accuracy is gone, gone, gone.
MVS. The guy simply looks lost out there. Bench that poor kid, and give Ryan Grant a chance.
Geronimo Allison. Dropped a poor-but-catchable ball from Rodgers, let the ball get punched out late in the game.
Preston Smith. We need to send out an all-points bulletin on this guy. He disappeared."The Devine era is actually worse than you remember if you go back and look at it."

Wow! pbmax, do you care to explain DVOA and how it relates to the Packers this year?Originally posted by pbmax View PostAaron Schatz @FO_ASchatz
Green Bay and the worst 13-3 (or better) teams in DVOA history (since 1985). The 1999 Colts are the only 13-3 team to come out worse than this year's Packers by DVOA.
Thanks

Speaking of somebody who disappeared ...............TERD Buckley over Troy Vincent, Robert Ferguson over Chris Chambers, Kevn King instead of TJ Watt, and now, RICH GANNON, over JIMMY JIMMY JIMMY LEONARD. Thank you FLOWER

hahahaha It might be the Vikings. We inexplicably played down to those you mentioned. If the Packers play like that, yeah, it could get ugly. I don't expect that, though - not against the Saints anyway.Originally posted by Vincenzo View PostI hear you but the next team we play won’t be the Lions, Redskins or Giants.

DVOA stands for Defense adjusted Value Over Average. +7 is good but it’s more normally associated with a 10-6 squad than 13-3. It’s calculated by looking at each play the team participated in.Originally posted by Vincenzo View PostWow! pbmax, do you care to explain DVOA and how it relates to the Packers this year?

If you go to their site, footballoutsiders.com, you can see under efficiency numbers that by another measure, the expected wins for the Packers were 9.9.Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

You can’t ignore historical data like this, it’s kinda like the elephant in the room. For me it’s a reality check reminding me of something that deep down I already know. In other words, this 2019 Packer team is much different from the 2010 Packer team. I’d be curious to know what the DVOA was for that 2010 team.Originally posted by pbmax View PostDVOA stands for Defense adjusted Value Over Average. +7 is good but it’s more normally associated with a 10-6 squad than 13-3. I wouldn't worry too much about historical precedent, its a small sample size and its not clear that at this point, with a bye, it makes much difference.Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.
