  • Packer 'backers to Giants

Two important linebackers from last year's corp are gone to play for the Giants under former Packer LB coach Patrick Graham. Martinez yesterday and now Fackrell.

I think we all figured Martinez was going to get a deal too good for Green Bay to match, and he did - getting one that averaged $10M/year for 3 year. Fackrell surprises me though. He got what I think is not much of a contract for a guy that got 10.5 sacks a couple of years ago and hasn't missed a game in 3 years.

He had what looked like a down year in 2019, did he fall off or was it the scheme? I'm surprised he was not offered that much to stay.

Fack isn't a great pass rusher. He got a nice sum in 2018 because teams were just keying on Clay and Perry was just absolute garbage. He's good depth, though, so that's part of what the Giants valuation.

Martinez was sick of the brown hate. Probably didn’t help that Rodgers told him to mow the field before practices either.

Fackrell doesn't play that much for a team with a real backup at the Edge; we had the Baconator
TERD Buckley over Troy Vincent, Robert Ferguson over Chris Chambers, Kevn King instead of TJ Watt, and now, RICH GANNON, over JIMMY JIMMY JIMMY LEONARD. Thank you FLOWER

On other hand, 4.6 per year is not bad value

But GB is going to force Gary into action this year. That is also part of the reason we ditched Reggie Gilbert for nothing

7th actually. Got a 6th for Trevor Davis and a 7th for Ty Montgomery.

Adam Schefter originally got it wrong. I suspect a lot of outlets including Packerswire, just reported his misinformation.

Trade: Packers are dealing LB Reggie Gilbert to the Titans for a seventh-round pick, per sources.
