He fits what the flower wants, but I still think he is a bad pick.

Tell us More Grasshopper...include Pad Level and Leverage Lean...I think I'm feeling a Bulge in my Pubic Region.Originally posted by RashanGary View PostBosa is gonna come off the line vs Bahk thinking he's about to blow away his 1 on 1. Our new dirty Guido is gonna sneak off the line like he's running a route and then come back across and put a highly unnecessary but very intentional cross check into Bosa's kindney region. That'll slow a cocky mf down right there. He'll be thinking about that on every rush there-after. Football.

I sort of understand this pick more now. I had four TEs that I considered good blockers--Devin Asiasi, Deguara, Thaddeus Moss, and Jared Pinckney. Moss and Pinckney are not very good athletes. Asiasi and Deguara are solid athletes. For all around TEs, I think it was Asiasi or Deguara. I would have liked Asiasi, but he was taken right before our pick. Deguara's height scared me a bit, but I guess working with Delanie Walker (same height as Deguara) in Tennessee may have alleviated that concern for LaFleur."There's a lot of interest in the draft. It's great. But quite frankly, most of the people that are commenting on it don't know anything about what they are talking about."--Ted Thompson

They reached IMO; if we look at the value they got it was not good. Overpaid for Love (unless he's a superstar). I like the talent of our R2 pick but relatively speaking really don't consider him a 2nd round "rb". We had opportunities to go get WR's and we either failed or got outfoxed or our GM things "we're fine there" which should cause more and more concern about his competency. I'd be going crazy at this crap if I was intense, passionate, and younger.
With each year as I become disappointed I look at the bigger picture and become more of a football fan and a bit less of a diehard Packer fan. Family, other importances, and a diehard Badger fan as well.
Next year I'll be cheering for Tom Brady to succeed, Hoody Geniuis to succeed, I'll be cheering for Jonathan Taylor in Indy, Cephus in Detroit, and I'll be cheering for the Saints and Zach Baun.
And when GB slips into the playoffs and get bounced due to lack of talent around AROD, I'll be disappointed and remember today, but it's not the end of the world.TERD Buckley over Troy Vincent, Robert Ferguson over Chris Chambers, Kevn King instead of TJ Watt, and now, RICH GANNON, over JIMMY JIMMY JIMMY LEONARD. It doesn't matter if they reached or not. The expert boards were even less accurate than previous years. What matters is whether the guy can play."There's a lot of interest in the draft. It's great. well truth be told when I looked at your and Nutz boards I'd say you guys did pretty f'cking good if I compare you up against nearly all of the NFL teams and ignore GB"s board.
Kudos to both of youTERD Buckley over Troy Vincent, Robert Ferguson over Chris Chambers, Kevn King instead of TJ Watt, and now, RICH GANNON, over JIMMY JIMMY JIMMY LEONARD. Thank you FLOWER

Let’s hope Rodgers can get away from all this carnage and we can cheer for him to finally win another Super Bowl!!!

This was impressive hustle by Deguara. Pick at the goalline on one side. He's the TE on the rightside.

He's not a TE, he's an H-back...Originally posted by Bretsky View PostLaughable
He'd have been a nice FIFTH round draft pick.
SO MANY better receiving TE's on the board.
I'm not sure what are worst pick has been.
Which is all the more reason not to draft him in the 3rd - b/c there's no demand for H-backs.
They'll cadget him all over the place, and he'll perform his role well; but again, not worth a 3rd round pick.wist

I agree. The boards were way off in many areas. Some here were lamenting that Denzel Mims wouldn't be available when the Packers pick in the 1st round, Hell, he almost lasted until he Packers 2nd round pick. On the other hand, Jordyn Brooks went in the 1st round. The idea that the Packers could have waited until the 5th to take DeGuara is pure speculation based on boards that in many cases weren't very accurate.Originally posted by HarveyWallbangers View PostIt doesn't matter if they reached or not. I like this pick. He's a nasty smart player who fits perfectly into what LaFleur wants to do. If he were 2 inches taller he would have been drafted even earlier. He's a high energy productive guy despite a lack of elite measurables. He's the opposite of what a lot of people didn't like about Gary. Packer fans will love him.I can't run no more

I actually like this pick, although I think if they had a R4 pick and took him there it would have been better value, as they say.
That aside, I agree with KY on him. I watched him a few months back and thought he'd be a good Day 3 sleeper pick. He definitely will push the TE room (look out Tonyan) and give them a chance to play 12 personnel. He's definitely H-Back material, but I just think he's a football player. That he's played inline, backfield and split out and been productive is a good thing and I think he will eventually be a very solid #2 TE with the upside to being (to paraphrase Tank) a poor man's Delanie Walker.
As for comparing him to Jimmy Graham: even if he's no faster, he's younger, cheaper, probably blocks better and is more likely to break a tackle than Jimmy. Plus he's not some aging player the coaches start out of deference to his NO days.

I understand he fits the big picture and all that, but his feet look mired in molasses, how do you block at the NFL level with those feet, how do you get separation at the NFL level with those feet. All tyrannies rule through fraud and force, but once the fraud is exposed they must rely exclusively on force.
