  • Official 2021 Draft Prospects Thread

One guy for the draftniks to keep an eye on: QB Trey Lance of North Dakota State. He had a ridiculous redshirt freshman year. He became the first freshman to win Walter Payton Award as the FCS Player of the Year.

NDSU has had some good QBs recently. Brock Jensen was in Dolphins camp in 2014 and played in the CFL. Carson Wentz went #2 overall in 2016. Easton Stick was drafted in the 5th round by the Chargers in 2019. Lance is the most highly recruited QB the Bison have had. Boise State went hard after him, but he chose to stay close to home. He is from a small town in western Minnesota that isn't far from NDSU.

    Stats:
    6'3" 223 lbs
    67% completion pct, 2786 passing yards, 9.7 yds/att, 28 passing TDs, 0 interceptions
    169 rushing attempts, 1100 rushing yards, 6.5 yds/att, 14 rushing TDs

    Some hype:
NDSU quarterback Trey Lance has first-round upside in 2021

    Highlights:
"There's a lot of interest in the draft. It's great. But quite frankly, most of the people that are commenting on it don't know anything about what they are talking about."--Ted Thompson

Harv, you took a job as the NDSU social media manager, didn't you?
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

I like my Bison. This Lance kid is the real deal though.

Waste of time. The Packers have zero clue how to draft.

This isn’t a Packers specific thread, so keep your negativity out of here.

I know Trevor Lawrence, the WR out of Alabama, Justin Fields, the WR and CB from LSU. Who are some others to keep my eye on?

We’ll be drafting first, so I need to watch the top end guys.

I guess I didn't realize how highly thought of Trey Lance was. Matt Miller projects him going 4th overall on his 2021 mock draft.

It's a tradition as old as my time at Bleacher Report to immediately feed the need for an early mock draft as soon as the current draft year ends. This year is no different with a dangerously early look at the 2021 class...

SI has him going 1st round also.

It's never too soon to look ahead to 2021. Here's our first look at how next year's draft could play out, with Trevor Lawrence, Justin Fields, Ja'Marr Chase and more.

Hopefully, we'll have a college season, so I can watch some of these guys.

Came across an article that rated the top prospects for Wisconsin in the 2021 draft:

                        1) OL Cole Van Lanen
                        2) LB Jack Sanborn
                        3) OL Logan Bruss
                        4) TE Jake Ferguson

If Lance comes out, NDSU could have a historic year for them in next year's draft. They also have OT Dillon Radunz -- who some project as a Day 2 pick. Jabril Cox was the best defensive player in FCS the last couple of years. He's a graduate transfer to LSU this year -- where he's expected to start. I hope he does well. He had nothing to prove at the FCS level. If he plays well in this SEC, it will improve his draft stock. He was already projected as a Day 2 pick.

NFL.com projects the Packers will receive two 4th round and one 6th round compensatory pick in 2021.

They can trade those fourth rounders to move up and draft two franchise quarterbacks.
