    Packers two open games are against the other NFC division winners because the Packers won their own division. One is at home (Philly) and one is on the road (SF).

    There is actually no luck involved at all.
    Isn't that what I said? The reason is that we won the division. Getting the Niners on the road and the considerably weaker Eagles at home, though, was luck. And you may be correct that the last time we played the Saints was in Green Bay - I don't recall. But having "our turn" to go to their place when they are also a division champ is still IMO still a bit of bad luck.

    No matter. Tough schedule or not, we'll be at or near the top anyway.
    What could be more GOOD and NORMAL and AMERICAN than Packer Football?

        I don't know how they came up with it, but if your "turn" thing with the Saints is valid, then it shoulda been our "turn" to get the Niners at home. Right?

          No dummy, the schedule is already set years in advance. You just slot in the two other teams that finished in the same place as you in their division. Everyone knew we were playing SF on the road.
          But Rodgers leads the league in frumpy expressions and negative body language on the sideline, which makes him, like Josh Allen, a unique double threat.

            Of course. So you attribute it to ‘luck’

              Should I go to the SF game and call for Love when the Niners start the mauling on Rodgers?

                Sure. If Love isn’t already starting at that point.

                  Next year we get:
                  Chicago, Det and Minn home and home.
                  @SF, Ari
                  Home: Sea, LA Rams
                  @Cin, Balt
                  Home: Cle, Pitt
                  Home: NFC East same place in division as Packers
                  @ NFC South same place as division as Packers
                  But Rodgers leads the league in frumpy expressions and negative body language on the sideline, which makes him, like Josh Allen, a unique double threat.

                      There is a formula for home and away in there but its complicated and basically involves the last game in a similar situation (both teams winning Division, etc.). Playoffs a separate matter.

                      Same reason it seemed like Packers never played Cowboys for all those run up years at Lambeau until 1997.

                      EDIT: Or see Dan's post.

                        As long as the season is 16 games we know who we play and where into perpetuity.

                          Vikings 3.5 point favorites on the look ahead line for the season opener against the Pack.

                              We'll beat the Vikings in week 1. Comfortably. The Packers are the better team + the Vikings have a lot of personnel changes that they'll need to get figured out.

                              This was a gift from the scheduling Gods. The Vikings will be tougher to beat later in the year.
