  • Phyllis George Has Passed Away

Condolences to her family and fans.

Now let's get to my question: Is this, in any way, true?

Each Sunday afternoon, "The NFL Today" aired three live versions of the half-hour pregame show -- one at 12:30 p.m. for the east, another at 1:30 for Midwest stations and again at 3:30 for the West Coast -- in addition to brief halftime breaks during the long afternoon. Until then, pregame shows had little cache; it was the postgame program with highlights from the Sunday games that held sway.
I am certain it wasn't true in the latter half of the 80s (Geoge did the NFL Today from 1984) but was it true at some point in th 70s?

Did the Central time zone games start at 1 PM local time?

Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

I saw that. Quite sad. "You are looking live" by Brent and then off to Jimmy the Greek, Irv Cross and Phyllis were my every sunday. RIP.

Really bummed about Fred Willard... was a comedic genius.

          RIP to both of them.

Here's another cool clip, they talk about the Packers who jumped out to I think a 4-1 lead. Plus other cool 1982 stuff.

Now that is a football injury report. Mid game too.

Chargers were so fun. Never wanted to play them. But always flawed in some way and never got over the hump.

RashanGary is understandably quiet, most likely in mourning.

                        Strength brother.

I was in San Diego during the Don Coryell era... it was a fun time. San Diego was a cool town back then.

OK, I need an answer to my question.

Did CBS NFC midwest games in the 70s start at 1 PM local time?

                              Speak up!
