I will be the first one to be happy to admit I was wrong about all the criticism I threw at the Gary pick. However, we're not there, yet.

Bobble probably said it best earlier in the offseason when it became apparent that Gary is one of the hardest working, most driven dudes on the team. He’s such a physical force that when he gets to tee off, he’s gonna be really hard to stop. But when it’s play action and/or off balance, he might never be able to key fast enough to be elite.
Gary has probowl potential. He’s got a HOF body and work ethic and a below average football mind so he’s a real good piece but not a true center piece.
That said, the sack on stafford was undeniable. Not many RTs are gonna have the ability to get in front of him when he tees off like that. And the Packers have the offense to make a lot of those opportunities likely. His early showing combined with the Packers offense makes it look likely for him to have 10+ sacks. And Preston is getting most of the edge coverage responsibilities because he’s the only guy we got who’s good at it, so Gary gonna have a ton of opportunities to reek havoc this year.Formerly known as JustinHarrell.

Just like he did at Michigan.Originally posted by RashanGary View PostI see Gary getting a bunch of doubles too. On top of his production he really does seem to be making everyone better

Two defensive scores in consecutive games partially attributable to the pressure he was applying.Originally posted by RashanGary View PostI see Gary getting a bunch of doubles too. On top of his production he really does seem to be making everyone better
It's too small of a sample size to draw any conclusions, the sun may just be shining on that dog's ass, but boy, right now, it looks pretty good..... Gary's pressure, not the dog's ass.

You claim to wAtch tape during the draft. Perhaps look at tape of what he is doing instead of just reading analytics. Pff is a great site imo but have human tape watchers for there grading. If they miss a double he grades lower. If he is rushing to contain it may look like a whiff lowering the grade. Bak grades all pro at pff last year but we see him slip (a little). Not saying we know more but we focus on a hand full of players. There graders need to rush because they focus on more lots of players. Shit gets missed.Originally posted by GB-Brandon View Post
No one can deny the impact and jumpgary has had in yr 2. In college his coaches and teammates all said he makes everyone better. Some see that this year. All tyrannies rule through fraud and force, but once the fraud is exposed they must rely exclusively on force.

I have “Watched Gary” and while i do agree he has shown some improvement saying “He makes Everyone Better Around Him” to be a huge fetch at this point.Originally posted by Upnorth View PostYou claim to wAtch tape during the draft. Maybe on one given play he did but collectively were just not there yet and I think it’s pretty obvious.

Sample size is waaay too small, but he leads the team in pressures/pressure rate and is .5 sack behind Zadarius.
If he keeps this up he will be a very good 3rd wheel and could push them to start him and move on from Preston (I hate that idea, he's good) to gain cap room.
I didn't like the pick, as I saw him as a classic boom-or-bust and I'm not a huge fan of taking those types of picks that high (and with Brian Burns still on the board). He's made considerable progress in Year 2 going from DE to OLB, and he's better than Nick Perry at same stage in career, which is a good thing.
If he continues to progress I will happily admit to being wrong.

And pulled a double on the safety I believe. Who was the coach that said to learn football dont watch the ball.Originally posted by RashanGary View PostHe was the pressure guy on both interceptions.
My bad just watched the replay. He only had one blocker after the wr released past him. He did seal that blocker off from Alexander though. All tyrannies rule through fraud and force, but once the fraud is exposed they must rely exclusively on force.

From OLB coach
"He might be the best one in the room setting the edge and playing the run. I mean, he's a violent kid," said outside linebackers coach Mike Smith last month. "That's why I'll always have faith in Rashan, because we all know he's athletic. Period. There ain't no doubt about that.
"He's meaner than a rattlesnake, I'm telling you. Guys like that, they don't fail.""There's a lot of interest in the draft. It's great. But quite frankly, most of the people that are commenting on it don't know anything about what they are talking about."--Ted Thompson
