I read that they could be out awhile and maybe for the year. Austin can replace Ervin, but losing Greene hurts. He’s much better than Redmond.

I really liked how well Greene was doing. Seemed like having more and more impact every week... SighAll tyrannies rule through fraud and force, but once the fraud is exposed they must rely exclusively on force.

Lafluer had a comment on this in his presser. What he was pissed at on the long punt return was the direction of the kick. They had a squeeze on. That punt was to be kicked to or out side of the numbers. Scott kicked the ball right down the pike. This give a good return man a lot of options. The returner moved to the boundary and ran right up that lane. Yes, Scott is one of the biggest wusses I've seen, but you really don't evaluate punters on their ability to tackle returners as the safety on the PK team. Scott did an epic fail. The fact that Scott is gutless has to bleed over into his kicking. It takes real guts to hit a punt from the southern goal line into that wind off the Bay in December. We are talking about a guy who doesn't have the guts to eat cleats on a tackle. Dioes he have what it takes to be our punter? I dunno, just dunno.

Everything you just said is true. I would just add that the biggest reason you don't replace him now is that he's the holder on place kicks. You don't want to have to make that change late in the season unless you absolutely have to. Greene’s a bum. He and that fucking Irish, O’Sullivan, along with that fucking milksop, Cletidus Clark.
Greene, Cletidus and O’Sullivan are the reason the D sucks. They’re the weakest links on the D. Opponents throw at Greene and O’Sullivan every time they need to move the chain via air. Cletidus is the reason it’s so easy to pound the rock up and down the Pack’s asses, especially with the HB Guts X Coolio 69 Pound X Angel Dark, aka, a run up the guts where Cletidus roams as an overpaid milksop.
I’d like to see more of heavy metal safety Henry Black. I’d also like to read the book, “The Life and Death of Henry Black.”

Scott is a bad tackler, good holder, erratic punter. He should stick around for the rest of this season, but MLF will want Gute to bring in competition.
You can't kick to a punt to a pro athlete PR in the middle of the field, especially when your coverage is expecting it to be slanted outside the numbers. He's done that a number of times now, and if he can't fix that and be consistent he's replaceable.
With this ST squad, I'll take a 42 yard punt with no return everytime over a 52 yard punt that's returnable. They've allowed 2 TDs in the last 3 games.Comment

As for Sullivan, he's good for what he is: an inexpensive but effective slot corner. He's had to play outside at times and I don't think he's as good there. You can win with Sullivan; he's better than Jackson for sure.
Greene is hurt a lot which is likely the result of being 5'11" and having to play moneybacker for Pettine. He's not terrible, but I see him get picked on or get juked and miss tackles often. I'm not sure they couldn't find a bigger safety hybrid type to do what he does. I assumed that's what they drafted Vernon Scott for, but haven't seen him play much. Maybe Black gets the occasional call.
Will Redmond in that hybrid role makes me uneasy. He was drafted as a CB, but now he's more of a S/CB type who has also battled injuries.
Weak spots are the ILBs and the DL line except for Clark. Lowry/Lancaster add very little, and Keke is inconsistent. The way the Smiths play where they crash down the line and go straight for tthe QB (Z takes a lot of chances with this) makes it look like running the ball is a pick-your-lane affair: run wide around the Smiths or double team Clark out of a gap and force the ILBs to come up and tackle. Pettine playing 2 DL and lining them over the guards (look at :18 of the clip) and heaven knows in the back 7 doesn't do wonders either.
I think if they could pair Clark with another above average DL (think Raji with Jenkins), and the OLBs were a bit more disciplined, they'd be better.Comment

Your right MC, Cutting Scott is out of the question. He is really saving his ass from that by being an excellent holder. The other problem with punters is you can't really ream them out like you would a regular member of the bomb squad. Punting is like a golf swing, much of it is mental and you don't want to have the guy go off the deep end mentally.

For 18 million frogskins a year, the guy has to dominate. Clark ain’t in any shape, form, matter or antimatter dominating. Keke has been outplaying Clark this season. Hell, injury-prone Mt. Adams has outplayed Clark this season.
Suffice it to say, Clark has morphed into Ole Cletidus. They coulda re-signed Jones, King and Lindsey with the frogskins they wasted on Clark.
