Don't the cowboys have a garbage d? I dont remember the last time I though 'look at the cowboys d'.
I think he looked good in seattle because of the players they had. Not the scheme so much.

McCarthy did not retain him. Richard did not coach on 2020.

“Scapegoat” and many including Mike Holmgren found the move to be “Puzzling”

Don't know exactly, but Seattle's defense in 2017 was not as good as it had been his 1st 2 years. His defenses in points allowed ranked 1st, 3rd and 13th. Seattle's defenses have gotten worse since they fired Richard.

The scheme in Seattle was simple no doubt but they were fundamentally coached up better then anyone else.

                    Especially in the secondary.

Personally I’d welcome a more “Simpler Scheme” where players rely more on Natural Instincts and attacking the field and football more. For ten years we’ve been playing this Passive Style of defense and reacting on reads which seems to always leave us a step behind!!!

Scrap The Gizmo Defense Now!!! Quit Drafting Corners In The First Round & Switch Up The Scheme!!

Kris Richard signs with Saints as secondary coach. Reports that Packers had interviewed him for DC job were likely premature. Other sites were reporting Packers had "reached out" to him. Possible Packers would have been interested in hiring him as secondary coach in the event they give Jerry Gray the DC job.

Other than Leonhard, none of those names are very impressive. They apparently are going young - no Marvin Lewis or Wade Phillips. I assume they can't interview the Tampa coaches until after the SB. I doubt anything happens until then.
What could be more GOOD and NORMAL and AMERICAN than Packer Football?

Apparently Ryan Nielsen saints assistant head coach is being interviewed as posted by joemailman above.

Sounds like saints arent happy and have blocked the move before. Could be good. Saints have a solid d.
