Watt has narrowed it down to "3 to 5" teams. I'm guessing that just like God told Reggie white to sign with the team offering the most money JJ will decide his best shot to win just by pure coincidence aligns with the team that offers him the most money. Weird how those things always work out.

I see, though, that the packers are currently the favorites to land him (+175) with Browns in a close second (+225).Originally posted by bobblehead View PostWatt has narrowed it down to "3 to 5" teams. Yeah, sad commentary on human nature, but can't say I blame him. It is nice to talk about wanting to win more than the money, but hard to resist when it is waved in front of your face. Do we expect Rodgers to do any different in terms of taking one (restructuring) for the team?Originally posted by Vincenzo View PostCards get JJ Watt. 2 yrs $31 mil.
$23 mil guaranteed.
It was money after all.

Well he doesn't care about winning I guess.Swede: My expertise in this area is extensive. The essential difference between a "battleship" and an "aircraft carrier" is that an aircraft carrier requires five direct hits to sink, but it takes only four direct hits to sink a battleship.

Yeah, I wouldn't have wanted the Packers to pay that much either. And Arizona wouldn't seem to have a significantly better chance of winning than Houston. So it is what it is. We'll just have to find a different, hopefully better D Line solution. What could be more GOOD and NORMAL and AMERICAN than Packer Football?

I would have been pissed if the Packers had paid that much for him. That's money better spent elsewhere.
Everybody here who wanted him and pisses and moans about how this means the Packers don't want to win will have nothing to say when Watt gets hurt four games in, misses, four, plays three, then misses six more, and ends up being a non-factor."The Devine era is actually worse than you remember if you go back and look at it."

Or if he returns to being dpoy we still can't afford 15.5 mil per year. It's just too expensive for us in the 2021 cap year.Originally posted by Fritz View PostShocking, isn't it?

As much as I would have loved to see him in Green and Gold this year, given the contract details there was obviously a snowball's chance in Havana of signing him. He's a heck of a player but at that price it's a huge risk given his injury history.
Oh well, the wishful thinking can end now and reality can start with us likely letting Jones, Linsley and possibly Lowry go and restructuring Preston Smith to create some cap room for improving the team with other solid veterans being cut and looking to play for a trophy.
Going to be a long wait as we sit out the first and maybe even the second round of FA signings and bargain shop.60% of the time it works every time.
