No, seriously. You trade your #1 KR and what seems to be a fairly decent RB for a guy who is great in regular schemes, but not ZBS. Why?

Robinson and Morency are A LOT better then Gado and Herron!!!!
        Good work, GB.

Maybe TT does know where the bear shits in the buckwheat.

This makes sense. We've gone from zero KR's to 2. He improved the roster. I would've like to see him chase the vets around earlier in the season, but at least he's starting fill some holes.

          From Packers.com - it's confirmed!

Packers Acquire Morency From Texans For Gado

          posted 09/13/2006

The Green Bay Packers Wednesday obtained running back Vernand Morency from the Houston Texans for running back Samkon Gado.

Morency, a 5-foot-10, 212-pound player, is in his second year out of Oklahoma State. In 13 NFL games, including Sunday's season opener, he has 51 carries for 197 yards (3.9 avg.) and two touchdowns. He also has averaged 21.9 yards on 20 career kickoff returns.

Selected after his junior season in the third round of the 2005 NFL Draft (73rd overall), he spent four years as a center fielder in the Colorado Rockies farm system before enrolling at Oklahoma State. He ran for 2,661 yards on 451 carries (5.9 avg.) with 23 TDs during his college career, including two seasons as a backup to current Denver player Tatum Bell.

Anyone catch that this guy is fairly old already?
Four years of minor league ball BEFORE college!

            He's 26+, born Feb. 4, 1980. He's only 3 years younger than Green.

I dunno how many here collect autographs, but Morency is said to have one of the worst signatures of anybody...Basically just a check mark lmao

Now the complaints about the team getting too long in the tooth can begin!

Let's hope that's for efficiency's sake and that the education major takes his penmanship seriously. Otherwise I am against this trade.

Packer People have excellent Penmanship. Its a sign of dedication and thoroughness.

I think it was a problem of motivation. That, or the fact that you can't judge a player merely by measurables. He has virtually ZERO production outside of this preseason.

I'm solidly in the "I couldn't care less" camp, but I am leaning toward the"oh...ok, what's for dinner" category! Doesn't concern me too much.

Another thought I had is this:

He ran behind Tatum Bell. Denver took Bell in the second the year in 2004. The next year, Morency started and put up similiar numbers. I wonder if they're the same style of runners? Bell has had success running in the zone blocking scheme. I wonder why Kubiak would let this guy go if he was a baller. Unless he is lazy, or a cancer, I just can't see that happening. It will be interesting to see.

Perhaps this is Fred Vinsor for Ahman Green version 2.0

I hope this doesn't screw with the Pack being the youngest team in the NFL. We were finally #1 in something and TT goes and f*^%s it all up!
