So I went to the Badger vs Notre Dame Game and set next to a former Badger OL scholarship athlete from the 80's.

His son just received a college scholarship from the University of Arkansas to being a full time long snapper. I said WTF ? He was about 6 2" and 190lbs. I learned a ton that day about what the specialty has become.

He has practiced well over 10,000 long snaps since seventh grade. Mutiple college camps as well as this years All American Camp and the camps had him rates as the #3 long snapper in the USA

Average time from snap to punter in college is less than .7 seconds. In the pro's it's slightl more because it's the expectation that the long snapper snaps to the punter with laces up so no spinning.

In terms of the field goals, his job is to snap it to the holder so the holder just places the ball down and does not have to spin the laces.

So big picture, our loan snapper has sucked today. He's doing a poor job snapping on the kick and on good for shit snaps it's the holders job to spin the laces. He's been shitty too.

Love doesn't look bad, he just looks like he's not in control. We're used to the veteran QB controlling the LOS.
That comes with experience.
