Could ole Tex be right about the “goddamned” media “pukes?”
I am spending $6/month of my minimum-wage, burger-flipping paycheck for access to PackersNews. Therefore, I also gain access to USA Today’s NFL section. Top headline there reads:
The Packers let down Jordan Love by giving Aaron Rodgers' replacement too little help
What the fuck! Giving Love little help would be playing 88, 19 and 8 at WR, wankers 12 played with last week. Love had 17, 13, 83 and 18 in kombat. Sure, there were plenty of special teams fuckups. But the defense for the most part shutdown the Chef’s hotshot Black/White Hybrid future HOF QB. (The late, great Mike Jackson once said, it ain’t matter if you’re black or white.)
Gave Love little help, my donkey ass! Love simply stunk worse than donkey shit.
Needlessly to say, I opted not read the fallacious article.
As I said when you posted that in the other thread, RG, you want to see him start at Seattle - and we lose that game too? We simply aren't gonna beat anybody decent without Rodgers. That includes Seattle with Wilson and probably Seattle without Wilson.
Now if you want to see him start the last game against Detroit after we've clinched the top seed, I'm with you on that hahahahaha.
Tex, nobody beats anyone decent with the backup QB playing his first ever start. Positives about Love were that he was mainly throwing into single coverage. He didn't LOSE the game for us. He didn't Win it by any means. Big negative was that his nerves showed and he was inaccurate....much like I felt about Rodgers early on. Remember after 3 years of understudy getting EVERY preseason game we went 6-10 with Rodgers leading the team that was in the NFCC the previous season.
Believe it or not, I left feeling there is real hope for Love since his biggest flaw was that he looked like a guy who was nervous and tight playing his first ever game in a tough road venue. Rodgers didn't play all that great on Thursday night, but he is a 15 year veteran near goat and the team pulled the game off. 22 for 37 184 yards. And don't get me started on Rodgers first game of this season.
The chiefs dialed up a ton of blitzes because a first time starter in that scenario isn't likely to make them pay. Love still threw to single coverage consistently. Even his interception was 6 inches from a completion. I know you like the lazy argument that the first time starter in a tough road venue didn't look as good as the hall of famer therefore all is lost, but its a really weak argument that accomplishes nothing at all since no one would have told you he would have. Go look at the 2008 season. Rodgers didn't look like the QB we have now either....actually many fans were hammering Ted for being stupid enough to move on from Favre almost exactly as you are doing now.
Good run blocking this week. Too bad love isn't able to identify blitzes because there was a ton of opportunities against this d. He did look better as the game went on. After the first drive I was really really stressed.
He identified them and went the right place with the ball. As many have mentioned his footwork went out the window because the game is too fast for him in this very first game IN KC and that is why he had no drive on the ball. His backshoulder throw to Adams was actually perfect and I'm betting Adams wishes he could have that route back.

Well, despite the loss, the Packers seem to be getting good results elsewhere. Dallas got punked. The Rams appear to be laying an enormous egg.
I'm worried about what happens when Rodgers gets back. Florio said there was no risk of suspension for the current scenario, only fines. However, if Rodgers doesn't completely toe the unvaccinated line moving forward, he could be suspended. Will he be willing to abide by the rules established by the league and NFLPA?
Just based on his personality and all I think he MIGHT just skip pressers the rest of the season and pay the fine.

Florio is even more of a shithead than most of the God damned media pukes - reportedly a Viking fan. They're NOT gonna suspend Rodgers.
They suspended Brady once. They can and will suspend Rodgers if he doesn't live up to the COVID regulations the league worked out with the players union.
As I noted, they won't suspend for things that happened up to now. However, now all the liberal Karens are watching and will throw hissy fits if Rodgers violates one line item of the agreement moving forward.

Actually, the team can get hammered, but the league is only able to punish players within the framework of the agreement they made with the Players' Union for COVID offenses, and that only includes monetary penalty right now.

Thanks for sharing this. Longer field more chance of error. 1st start. I hope rodgers comes back Friday but if not I thonk.in game 2 love will look better. I'm not addicted to love, yet, but I do want to him to show the league the power of love.
I just hope he doesn't give love a bad name
All tyrannies rule through fraud and force, but once the fraud is exposed they must rely exclusively on force.

If there are repeated violations, suspensions are possible. Like I said, there is no risk for suspension for what has happened to this point. However, if Rodgers comes back and consistently refuses to follow the protocols set up for unvaccinated players after he already had been disciplined for it, the potential for suspension is opened.

Not only is Jordan Love making his first career start Sunday in Kansas City, but he’ll attempt to help end a peculiar streak.
The Packers have lost seven straight games on the weekend that Daylight Saving Time ends, counting two Monday games. It ends again this Sunday.
The streak continues. Now at 8.

Seems like there is a plethora of posts in various threads that I agree with today, especially APB's post just above yours as well as this one of yours. Love wasn't half bad (and no, I don't mean he was all bad). The thing is, with as much as Rodgers means to this team, and as mediocre as they would be/are without him, neither Love yesterday nor Love with improvement nor just about anybody else would be an adequate replacement for Rodgers, assuming something other than mediocrity is the goal.
And I also wouldn't be surprised if what we saw was Love having more success than he normally would have/will have, given the flaws the Chiefs have these days as well as the luck Love had in not getting several more picks than he did from basically putting it up for grabs. He didn't practice near enough WWAD IMO (What Would Aaron Do).
Maybe take away the DST problem by making it all year around.
What could be more GOOD and NORMAL and AMERICAN than Packer Football?
