        • Amazing effort today.

It just makes the three unnecessary losses (Giants, Commies, and Lions) that much more infuriating.

              • Fritz sorry man, my heart goes out to you.
Swede: My expertise in this area is extensive. The essential difference between a "battleship" and an "aircraft carrier" is that an aircraft carrier requires five direct hits to sink, but it takes only four direct hits to sink a battleship.

This game day thread is in honor of my wife Tonya, who passed away early Thursday morning after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.

Like the Packers, I am bruised and torn and lost right now.

But my wife was a fighter. She scratched and clawed and fought every inch of the way. She never gave up, ever, even when it became clear this past year what was coming. Even when our oncologist gave us "the talk" three weeks ago (it's okay to stop treating the cancer, nothing more we can really do, all of that), when we went into the hospital the next day and the rounding oncologist asked her if she was stopping chemo or just putting it on pause, she said, "Oh, we're just on pause."

When I asked her, after she lost her balance and could hardly walk by herself, if it was time for a walker, she said "We're not there yet." When I told her I wanted to put shower bars in the bathroom, she said "I don't think we're there yet." She just refused to give in. Her body gave out, but her mind and her spirit never did.

So my wish is that somehow this thread will spin out into the universe and imbue the Packers today with that same spirit. Win or lose, may they play with that kind of will.

Fuck, I just saw this. Condolences Fritz, so very sorry for your loss. The Packers certainly won in grand fashion in overtime. You take care and hang in there, not much else a guy can do.

edit: Wiping away tears even though I don't know you guys. It's the way I am and not just being hammered after a day of football.

                  • I have no clue what happened today other than a win - in OT none the less, but at this point, I read the 1st post and just needed to say this:

Fritz - I just want to say how sorry I am for your loss. I know you don't know me and I'm not one of the "Regulars" in here, but my condolences to you and your family. Please take care.

So sorry, Fritz. Prayers for you, yours and her.

WHY IS AMARI RODGERS STILL ON THE TEAM?

Red Red Red; you know the answer

AMARI is still on the team because Gutebag drafted him in round 3.

All of the guys covering GB have been asking this for a while now and while I was driving they kept coming back to he offers nothing. How much longer is it going to go before GUTE can admit the mistake and move on

                        • Thank you to all of you for the condolences and kind words.

I wish you all could've met her (well, some of you, I dunno . . . ) She was full of life, and she made my life bigger and better.

And the Pack really did come out fighting and they bounced back when it looked like the game was getting out of hand. A tribute to Tonya, even if they didn't know it.

Yup, that's not acceptable but what's going on in GB is borderline toxic imo. Give it a few more losses to keep developing. AROD is a horrible Assistant GM but after all the enabling not much can be done
