  • Bear Killers

I have always held a special regard for Packers who came up big at crucial moments in Bears game.
Some, like Rodgers & Favre, did it, of course, on a regular basis.
Others had multiple moments : Sam Shields, Randall Cobb, Jordy Nelson.
Still others were a kind of one-hit wonders : Johnny Jolly, BJ Raji, Don Majkowski, Chester Marcol, Adrian Amos.

    Who am I forgetting?

Tom Crabtree. In the 2nd quarter of a defensive struggle against Bears, Crabtree caught pass from Tim Masthay on 4th and 26 for a 27 yard TD.

You did not just say "4th and 26"...
I believe in God, family, Baylor University, and the Green Bay Packers.

It was the good 4th and 26, not the bad one.

John Fox (Bears coach) who challenged a play that was originally would have left the Bears first and goal from the two, and instead it was ruled a fumble in the end zone so it was Packers ball at the 20. Bears lost by 7 to the Hundley led Packers.

I remember a rain-soaked night game in Chicago long ago when the Bears were good and the Packers weren't when Dorsey Levens ran wild and the Packers won.
What could be more GOOD and NORMAL and AMERICAN than Packer Football?

Huh, 1994 game, Packers finished 9-7 and lost to Dallas in the Divisional Round after beating DET in the Wild Card game. BF at the helm.

Bears finished 9-7 that year also. First winning season since 1991.
But Rodgers leads the league in frumpy expressions and negative body language on the sideline, which makes him, like Josh Allen, a unique double threat.

If you ask Tramon Williams and Charles Woodson, Jay Cutler was a Bear killer.
I recall Cutler also yelling at his OL because they couldn't block Clay Matthews.

The game where GB put up 42 in the first half against CHI is also a good one to lift the spirits.

Anyway, Majik may have the best single memory of recent history..."after further review, the bears still suck!"

The game I remember was Halloween 1994. Edgar Bennett ran for over 100 yards and scored 3 TD's. Favre had a 36 yard TD run. Packers won 33-6.

Not an official stat, but he also slid for over 300 yards after being down.

I remember that game. Edgar Bennett was a muddy star of that game.
Brett Favre didn't complete a pass until well into the 2nd quarter and they were already up.
What I'd forgotten was Bryce Paup had a good game, and all the turnovers/fumbles.
